Zebra is a very useful tool in certain situation (I use it on my SL2S) not to blow out highlights as shadows are easily recovable in PP in my case in C1.

This issue was always a concern for me. You saying it’s very rare that you need detailed in whites and detailed in blacks makes a lot of sense now. Do the prints come out good when you ignore the clippings? I always like pure blacks but never tried pure whites. thank you

The blinking prevents you from seeing the actual picture. Think it came from "zebra" on video as that require different exposure for screen. For still you look at the exposure of the main subject, not the background or elements of no importance.

Thank you for the tip Thorsten. I think this “blinking” feature is on some other M models and I’m sure a lot of us will be glad to turn it off!

Set it once and forget it, then use the external settings of ISO, aperture and shutter speed. But a pain when you want to change something and can't remember what it is called and/or where it is.
