Stich has such a focus on practical application and honesty that is so refreshing to watch. Many times we have the pieces and we just need to put them in place with heart and a (semi)-rational strategy. The last few years has been an improvisational journey and I am proud to say you and others have given me the confidence to teach music to my own students. And every day the confidence to play what I feel in my heart grows. Thank you Stich! ❤

I think it's guys like you on You tube Stitch that keep all of us proper learners out here on guitar honest. So many Tubers with quick fixes and easy tricks. But you, like many other good teachers lead us to the water and then let us drink and learn by ourselves. Which of course (and we know it) takes time to learn the craft. Keep it coming mate.

Didn't think I was going to like this.....but I did! Very practical breakdown of the elements of a solo. I think you kind of slid dynamics in there and I would add timing and rhythm changes but that could apply to changing the motif.

Great stuff! You always do everything in Major. What would be the bonus notes if you were doing this using E minor penta, would they be the same?

Love ya work Bucky. Never felt a bigger emotional erumption when Newman took that intercept Mark. We had some cocky Swans suppprters behind us who felt 'robbed'. First half dominance was pleasing and made the Swans look like a team who didnt deserve to be in the 8... until the second half. Look forward to ya analysis!

Hi Ian. So good to see you in my feed again, brother. I wanted to let you know that I recently started jamming with my old bass player again after a couple of years and he knows my playing better than anyone. He has been very impressed with the improvements in my playing. Of course, I credited you for said improvements. Thanks again, my friend. -Jstn Edited in: Still having trouble with your leads blasting over the background tracks, making the backgrounds super difficult to hear. If you could fix the mix in the future, it would really help. Thanks.

The two bonus notes that you added to the E major pentatonic are from the E minor pentatonic. You basically blended the major and minor pentatonics together.

Absolutely but using chord tones in your solo especially on fast moving music is intense. Check out my Franklins Tower Video

Thanks for the video. Quick question. You talked about inserting some extra notes into the E major pentatonic, such as the D on the high E string. Since the E major scale has an E flat in it, I’m wondering why you didn’t use that note as an extra. Is it possible I could use both?
@laurelrunlaurelrun
@laurelrunlaurelrun 10 ай бұрын
Would be good maybe in passing back to E or play it when the progression is actually on an Eb chord. or where it is the 5th of one of the other chords being played, like the G# that directly follows.

Preferred the sound of the f sharp minor/A major pentatonic, but would need to land on E, so I guess that would be E mixolydian pentatonic?
@chrismccarter6875
@chrismccarter6875 Жыл бұрын
The only issue would be the A in this scale clashing with the perfect 5th of the D# power chord (A#), so would need to avoid the A on that passing note if possible

@@StichMethodGuitar I asked you this a few years ago. Watch the end solo with Warren Haynes and Dickey Betts. It seems so spontaneous. I could never understand it. I know it's Mixolydian and the harmony I think is in fourths.
