Before anyone begins a years long journey into a career in robotics they may want to take a personality test to see if they would even be compatible to that sort of lifestyle, and an IQ test to see if they have the cognative horsepower to complete the course work, and to get an idea how productive they might become in terms of pushing the field of robotics forward. I personally work with people who are not a good fit for their chosen career fields. In a few cases, their inability to grasp the more complex concepts is actually slowing down the development process. This seems to indicate that they are also not cognitively well matched to their careers. Just my personal experience.
