A few simple spray foam projects can save you money on energy. Bonus, the expanding foam thing is pretty cool.

Just my own 2 cents on this as well, wear a long sleeve shirt that isn't your favorite as the odds are good it will have some foam stuck on it afterwards. Getting it off a shirt is near impossible. The gloves don't have to be anything fancy and I often use nitrile gloves. You REALLY need to wear some unless you want to wear foam for a few days on your hands. I wouldn't even try to clean up the foam until it hardens. A big tip is carry a paper towel with you and after you are done, just put it under the tip of the tube as it will ooozz out some and drip after you stop dispensing. You can easily drip it onto a floor or some other finished surface if you aren't mindful of that ooozing. If it does get on some, again LET IT DRY! They once dry you can usually break off the piece after it has expanded. The only time I would try to clean it up wet, is if it is a small amount that wouldn't be enough to easily grip and break off after it hardens. I believe they recommend fingernail polish remover when it is wet, but I have honestly never tried when wet. Great Stuff from DOW is awesome, but just need to take a few precautions.

I have used tooth picks to dig up the hard foam for future uses and clean up the hole immediately after use

How long do you have after initial use before the nozzle seizes up with hardened foam?

Would you consider using Spray Foam as a Water Sealing product especially where silicone or other sealants cant expand into??
@lowes9 жыл бұрын
+Gaming Throne these products are water resistant so not a substitute for water sealant. Thanks for watching our video.

how do you reuse those things? the foam gets stuck in opening
@lowes9 жыл бұрын
+pinkblackbrown they're not reusable. We suggest planning and prepping (remove wall plates, etc) several sites and doing them all at once. Thanks for watching our video.

I rinse the straw immediately - sometimes need to poke a bamboo skewer (for kabobs) thru it
@Mao.Loves.Zedong8 жыл бұрын
You can reuse the tin if you fold the straw in half and tape it shut while its still attached to the tin it stop the air getting in that stops it from curing.

In my experience this is a messy job, and it ticks me off that the foam can set up pretty quickly in the straw, and there is no way to clean it
@lowes9 жыл бұрын
+Neponset River true, best bet is to have several projects lined up & ready to go (plates removed, etc) so you can move quickly from one to the other. Thanks for watching our video.
