Hi There, is the "system time" check box ticked for this?. or do we also need to direct the date/time to a PLC tag?

You do not need a plc tag for date time. With this synchronization, the HMI will take over the date/time from the PLC. The date/time for the PLC can be set by going online with the hardware configuration of the PLC.

thanks, I've a client with 2 HMI that can't update the HMI time/date from the Windows OS. hopefully, then, it'll just be a case of syncing the PLC with my laptop time ;) I'm going to the site tomorrow to have a look....@@PLCskilltree

Thanks - have you got a video on how to SAVE the current time/date to a date/time Tag? I want to do this when my "Save" button is pressed.

No video like that no, but there ‘s a specific instruction in TIA that reads out the PLC date/time. So you could just trigger that with your save button.

How do you Synchronize date&time in HMI with S7 300 PLC ?

If both are in TIA Portal, then same principle applies. With Simatic Manager, it’s a bit of a different story, maybe in another video 😃
