Ryan, you are a great teacher. Its a great experience to listen to you because the way you explain, it starts opening up the mind towards direction of astrology. That is something very cosmic. I have read books on astrology before but couldn't watch any videos because of overly animated expressions and expressing malefics aspects in negative and fearful way. I really admire your clarity and explanations on brihat parashar hora shastra. Though I had read the book, but certain concepts were very hard to understand until you explained. I admire you as a teacher and have lots of respect for you. I am thankful to you for opening my mind and helping me on so many topics. I will always be grateful.

Great video! I always have to stop your videos and think about what you said then go back and re listen because you always have excellent ideas and great information about the topics you talk about. One request, please make more interesting videos with Ernst. It seems like he is a walking encyclopedia of Vedic astrology and you are the perfect librarian who knows just what page to open. My sister passed away six months ago and left me all her astrology books.(30) Being the very obsessed mercurial person I am I had to go find my own astrologers and I found you. When the student is ready... These videos are really helping me to figure our who I am and why things are as they are. With regard to what makes planets exalted in a certain sign has left me scratching my head a number of times. I personally think it may also have to do with the fact that a certain portion of space simply has physical properties that help convey that planet's physical rays in a more potent fashion. A phenomenon that "modern' science has yet to discover.

I have Saturn strong in my chart but Pisces is my sun sign Venus is in Capricorn Saturn in the first house retrograde in Virgo wow, relationships were often and still is problematic karma maybe

I have never formally studied astrology but for the several years have observed various astrologers in terms of how they teach and present materials from a Vedic vs. Western perspective,so that I could decide which approach. The current debate within astrology between between sidereal and tropical zodiacs has been educational. You mention you using "whole houses" but in doing so with a friends's chart, I noticed that the 3 planets that were in his 8th house all shifted to the 9th. Can you comment,on that as it shifts the entire momentum of the person's chart. Rahu was in the 8th is now in the 9th.

Ryan, what if Jupter is exalted in Pisces and Mercury is in happy in Gemini ? They are in 45 degree angle.... Does Vedic Astrology considers the angles? Taking just those two planets into consideration, what would you say it would be the result?

By the way, Aries is 8th from Virgo, Mercury's mulatrikona sign, which means, according to Parashara, that it is a friendly sign for Mercury (although it is neutral towards Mars, since Scorpio is not a friendly sign for Mercury).

Ishta n kashta aspects.. new concept to me. I have 1st lord guru n ketu in 8th, now i understand how ketus malefic influence makes my Jupiter do dirty work. Yes it hurts n i dont even get to share it. It's too much to handle n deal with people whu Hate you secretly. I wonder what is my karmic debt to Ketu or theirs i deal with, what good is mental torture to anyone. What's ketu purpose??

I've never understood the intercepted signs idea...but then again I've never studied Western, but I know its a pretty well defended concept by the Wester Astrologers I know.

If I were to combine them, I'd use the whole house system, the tropical zodiac, and then utilize vedic and "western" techniques for confluence.

What is a house lord? Ok say Aries is naturally 1st house so would Mars be the lord or would the planet that rules the sign that i have in the 1st house be the lord?

The ruling planet of the house sign is the lord, so in your example, yes Mars is the lord. :)

House lord depends on the hour of you birth example I was born at a certain time I’m aguarius ascendant so that’s my first house the self the body how the world perception of me how my life pathe is the second is Pisces that’s the early life of which I was born my nurturing environment and so forth the third would be Aries then you put the planets that are in those houses if any to look deeper planets will change the nature of the house also if they are aspected by other planets good or bad

Riddle me this… If there's no past, why are we repaying anything???? THAT THOUGHT ITSELF - thinking of karma in the traditional way - THAT IS WHAT KEEPS THESE PEOPLE STUCK HERE! Here's how much I fucked up this life, I'll be here 1 million more at this rate… LOL. I keep getting the thought today that, karma has nothing to do with that, the "past". Again, if there is no past, I don't get it… What if we just learned the lesson right here and now? Isn't that the point of karma? To learn a lesson to NOT do something or other? Is it all divine and just under God's eye? Is there wrong? Do you still have to be taught if you learn the lesson?? I think No it's just the position we're playing, it's nothing personal. UNLESS WE MAKE IT PERSONAL - attachment - karma - I am fucked for the next 1000 lives. That thought alone will get you stuck here… Right? In it there's attachment. Boom. Just like that. Seems so harmless at first, so enlightening and educational… Hmm. What IS karma? Lol. I think we often leave our lives and walk into death unconscious. Full of things we wish we'd done and did not. Regret. Unconsciously we leave feeling so many emotions and most likely feelings of needing punishment. So yes, we are reborn under the "perfect" circumstances. The perfect conditions for what? To suffer? or awaken or what? Leave life feeling whole and complete? Again, no "karma". What if We have to keep coming back into these lives to realize this ONE invaluable lesson… but really get it and take it inside. Hmm.

Yeah. I think. I have retrograde Mercury - Sun (Virgo) in the 5th house aspected by a retrograde Jupiter (Pisces) in the 11th. It is what I do, however, I am learning to balance that. ;) I still do believe that our beliefs going forward impact us. I just had the realization that me even believing that I'm going to have to come back for a long time it's going to influence that. It must if we hold it as true.
