I have the moon in 22 degrees Capricorn, born on a full moon partial eclipse... There was also a solar eclipse 14 days out from my birthdate (14 years) progresses moon time. I had a nearly successful suicide attempt at 14, and have a suspicion that the only reason I’m alive is because that first eclipse was partial and not full. And being born on an eclipse, there’s an obvious sun/moon opposition which has felt challenging. My friend also had an eclipse in her progressed moon 14 days out, and also a suicide attempt, but I have not observed this to be the case for others. But I did find a few examples in friends where the progressed moon had made it all the way around and there was either a notable mental crisis or suicide.

My moon is in a 5 planet Pisces stellium in my second house. I should be a quivering mass of emotion, but now I understand that my moon is combust and my Saturn is conjunct as well so I think it also restrains my emotions. I was much more emotional when I was young but I often tried not to let it show.

I just have to say that as someone who is self-studying at home through your video podcasts, I deeply appreciate the time and effort that you take to meticulously chart out the topics covered throughout your videos. It makes a very large difference to be able to see your labels because it shows to me where you intentionally want to communicate the subtle yet significant shift in the topic of information. Not only are you seamlessly adapting to the flow of conversation in your podcast, but you also mark your transitions to a tee, and you clearly label the root of the topic. Seriously. This is an immense gift for us viewers, and you do this to an immense degree of consistency and detail every time. I've watched many of your episodes, and this addition to your videos has always helped me. It raises the quality of my life. It makes the information so much more accessible. It is also especially helpful when I need to revisit your content and I can find what I need in a flash. I really hope to not dilute the immense amount of gratitude I have with all this typing, and I really hope that I have conveyed how thankful I am for all of the work that you contribute to this field of study. As a child I always drew the Moon in my 'daytime' pictures, together with the Sun! I have a Cancer Asc, in a night time chart. My Moon is 0 degrees 58 in Aquarius, conjunct my North Node (8th house). It's opposite Uranus (1st house), squares Saturn + Neptune, and trines my Sun + Mercury. It basically sits opposite all of my other planets. I've always been fascinated with the big, deeper questions, and use Shamanic types of practices to connect beyond the physical. I can pretty much feel when the Moon changes signs, and it's not always pleasant Lol! Many thanks to both of you for this excellent discussion - hoping that you do a follow up!!!

Hello! I am from Spain. I have been studying astrology for a few years. But I've been studying psychological astrology all this time. When I discovered Hellenistic astrology with you, I realized the absolute importance of the moon. Before I knew about you, I considered the moon as something that can act further in the past, as if the moon was just the shelter. But for me it was not enough. There was something else that could not be explained with this information. So when I started listening to you, I saw the light. I loved your explanation and Israel is adorable.

This has just been illuminating!!! My Sun is in Taurus, and my moon and rising are in Leo…..and while I have been in a “new moon” life phase (I stumbled on this podcast via an algorithm after watching Chris and Catherine in the lumination pod cast) ….these past few years have been enjoyably harsh as I am the star or leading lady in some sadomasochistic drama that is playing out in my life…..This podcast has brought to light what I have been intuitively doing, (and then questioning myself for doing)….One of the nicest complements I ever received was that I was the most ‘balanced’ person , the complementer knew (at that time). In retrospect, I can attribute that (short lived period) of balance to the juggle of the the ‘Sun” and the “moon”. I, like everyone, tends to swing disproportionately one way or the other. But, to be most effective, one should not. It is like Shiva and Kali. One is the meditator (oddly male Shiva) and one is action orientated, (Kali). (You touched on that myth lightly too as Shakti (energy or source) is from the dark abyss and existed before existence and time) . Without reflection, one’s actions are less efficient and effective. Lately, I find myself, rebelling against me, to stay up late, past curfew, to work on creative projects in the light of the moon, while ideas and thoughts of the battles I will wage are formulated. It’s an odd little dance, I’ve found that I do when I allow myself. The accountant or business orientated activities (allotted time usually by day) spur thoughts on creativity. While, creative time, (usually by the light of the moon) evoke clever thoughts, tactics, or strategies to maneuver in life. There seems to be a necessary interplay, that I wouldn’t have been able to put words to until seeing this podcast. It’s a dance, between the sun and the moon, between surviving and thriving! (I am grateful to Astrology Podcast for helping me navigate my new moon lumation phase, while my north node is in Taurus, conjunct Uranus - tolerating fricking Saturn, (as a go Taurean will do) . I am broke now, but not for long and I will become a high level patron as i give credit where credit is due…..Astrology Podcast, Esoterica, and Religion for Breakfast, have not only afforded me survival techniques’ , but means to thrive. Cheers! I am a newb, but have learned a lot, but not even scratched the surface. Thank you both for this post!

OMG. This is the best episode ever on the meaning of the Moon. Thank you guys so much. I know this sounds weird, but I study the full moon every month for several hours by looking at it from 2am to 5am from my bedroom window with the lights turned out...looking at every shape and shadow....then I meditate for a few hours and many answers to complicated questions have come to me, even answers that have saved me from many troubles in life. It is the best source of wisdom that people don't know about but should.....but not many astrologers touch on it......so this is a huge confirmation for me......bless u both and enjoy today's new moon.....cstd....

Jah & Jahes love Chris. This was one of the most informative podcasts I've watched on your channel. I appreciate all the materials that were shared and discussed the moon. I have Moon in Cancer, where she is at home or domicile. But, it is in the 8th house where I have my Sun and Mercury both in Gemini. One of the best things I learned from your program is that planet earth also has Moon in Cancer, and I feel very at home on the planet and in my country of the U.S.A. I believe strongly in mothering and motherhood. I strongly connect with my womb, uterus, and all of the organs associated with the Moon's placement. Most of all, I love home and housing! But ironically, I have been chronically homeless since 2003. And by 2013, I had lost my beloved children and started living on the streets. I slept on trains and buses in NYC and Paris for 9 years. Last month, the DHS (Department of Homeless Services) picked me up and brought me to a Stabilizing Center in midtown. But, it is not home, I am sometimes harassed, and the conditions are not very good. So, I plan to move, but I don.t have the money. It makes me really because I am getting older, and it's hard to get a job, especially in the service sector. I sure wish that you'd do some other sessions on the moon. But I will watch the podcasts you did on the different phases of the moon. Blessed love.#1804 #Ayiti #ToutMounSeMoun #HousingfortheHomelessNow #AbolishCPS #DefundFosterCare #ProChoice

Hey wonderful episode guys hats off to you both 😉👏🏽 I have a 5h Cancer Moon, and was born on a balsamic Moon at night. I actually almost died at birth! Natally my Moon is conjunct Mercury and Mars co-present. This squares (Mars by degree, Moon and Mercury by sign) to a great conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter in Libra my 8h. Also a sign based sextile to Venus in Virgo. I have had 8 pregnancies given birth to 6 children and have 5 surviving. Clearly someone loooooves children and is a lil on the fertile side 😝🥰♥️. Of those who’ve survived 3 have autism spectrum disorder and I support them through government pension, other peoples money benefactors, (Jupiter in the 8th?). And the icing on the cake Mars rules my Aries 2nd house and my pensions are paid on Tuesday! There’s a lot of warmth, creativity, tears, play, baking, cooking, eating, entertaining, laughter and love in our home, oh and a bit of noise, chaos and mess too 😝😂 So I guess you could say the moon has and does play a significant role in my life 🌛🌚

It acts as a resource to remind us of our alliances, our support systems, of history-which instructs us against repeating past errors or reminds us of pathways for success, etc. Anyway, I also kept thinking of the words “tether” and “bowl” (reflecting, containing) with regard to the moon.

Thank you Chris for using the term "antithesis" rather than detriment or fall for when a planet is in a sign in which it's against type. I find it much more accurate, as well as more appropriate in the modern psychological landscape. I've noted many people (friends and relatives) with a planet that's 'against type' in its sign location, without apparent mitigations, which isn't problematic at all but is expressing in a non-stereotyped way. Also, in terms of psychological effects of words, I think this more nuanced terminology is essential in the modern context. I noted in a previous show when you mentioned that you'd realised that antithesis is also a more accurate translation of the ancient texts.

@@m.younus833 That is good. Not the easiest combo with Mars, but it's nothing you have not seen yet. For you, the Sun is more important.

I often use the Moon as an example to connect quantum theory to astrology. I think all levels of gravity affect space time. We all feel and are influenced by the tug and pull of the fabric of space time. No matter how large or small.

3H Moon in Sag in a night chart. I was homecoming queen in high school lol. Which was a surprise at the time considering I spent the first 3 years of HS in the marching band. But my Moon also rules my Lot of Spirit and homecoming was literally 1 month into my Lvl (2) LB ☺

LOVE this! coming to this 2 months later but so glad i'm in a quiet enough place to take in this great conversation. pisces sun/moon/venus/mars absolutely enjoying this conversation - and yes, i absolutely resonate to the points about the nocturnal chart!

Thanks Chris and Israel! This was a great conversation and I learned a lot not only about the Moon but also astrological thinking through the ages. I am very appreciative for this format and your willingness to share all the knowledge you have gathered. The Moon is situated in the third house in my birth chart so the Planetary Joys discussion was very cool to listen to. Moon aspects in my chart include a trine between Moon (Libra) and Sun (Aquarius), Moon conjunct Pluto with the moon being one degree past Pluto, and Moon sextile Neptune in Sagittarius. I have had an interesting life experience where a health crisis surfaced as a waning crescent Moon was moving from Virgo to Libra in 2014. This health crisis then resurfaced during a full Libra Moon transitioning into Scorpio in 2019. Over the next couple of years, I was subsequently able to look at this crisis more clearly and resolve it.

I loved this episode and can't wait for subsequent parts and the episodes on the other planets! I have Moon in Cancer in the 12th house and, while I have a day chart I place a lot of importance on my Moon placement and think about it constantly (maybe having a Taurus Sun has to do with it, and the Moon is separating from a sextile with it). I feel really comfortable and most like myself when I'm alone, and I resort to to seclusion, silence, tears and a comfy bed when I feel very upset lol. My Moon's most recent aspect is a separating square with Venus in Aries and its next applying aspect is a trine with Saturn in Pisces. I long for the day where I understand all the facets of my Moon :)

I loved this talk! Israel is so warm and I think that despite his prestigious position & extensive knowledge, he really comes across as approachable and like you could ask him any question without feeling dumb lol I hope my 11th house moon will one day show up like his! Would love a part 2 or another podcast with him! Thanks as always Chris for bringing such rich & enjoyable content!!!

Oh I loved this video! Israel as a Cancer rising, Taurus moon was perfect for this episode! Not sure if that was intentional or not lol but the video is amazing! Thank you again for sharing such educational and in depth videos! 💙 I’m a Pisces moon, in my 5H at 18°. It’s trine Pluto (in my Scorpio 1H), opposing my Virgo Mars in my 11H (within 8°). Also a Virgo sun (2°). I’m excited to apply what I learned from the video today to understand this part of my chart more!

This episode was SOOO GOOD! I’ve listened to it 4 times now just to soak in all the nuances. (And because I have Mercury in Pisces😆) If you do this for every planet it will be the best educational tool yet! Really excellent. Also, I felt a warmth in you, Chris, that I haven’t seen before at this depth. I guess my 25° Aquarius Moon was vibing with yours! Ha ha. I also realized my sun is 1° off of Austin’s. I wonder if Kelly and I have anything similar. I just love this podcast! I credit it as being the catalyst/instigator of my decision to really study astrology. Covid “just happened to” coincide and allow enough time to let the addiction really get hold of me! I’m close to the 365 days in a row marker in that I have studied something every single day. I don’t think it’s a fad! 🙏❤️😁🙏❤️😁🙏❤️😁 PS I have moon is in 2nd house in contra-antiscia to Saturn in 5th Also, Mercury in 3rd house (with Sun & Venus) is in contra-antiscia to Mars in 4th so I rarely sit still but am always wanting to learn something so podcasts and videos are perfect. Now I just need an audio-version of your book. It’s feeling neglected sitting on my coffee table! 🤣

Brilliant:) I've been over this episode like 3 times now.lol The eyes...I'd not known specifically about the association with the left eye. I have the Moon separating from a conj with Jupiter in the 6th in Aquarius. Last year when Saturn ingressed into Aqu' health issues came up for me but my mum also suddenly had diagnosed quit tough issues with her eyes. When I heard the associations with the left eye on this show a few weeks back she had just told me she has acute glycoma in her left eye. Hellenistic astrology is so shockingly accurate sometimes.

Shout out from London! Thank you both for this, it was really interesting and I came away with a much clearer and rich understanding of the astrological moon :) really looking forward to the full planetary series!! I've got a Gemini moon (in mutual reception with Mercury in Cancer) in my 7H. It's combust and opposite Saturn :/ My husband has got a Gemini moon so I appreciated the bit about synastry. Also, really liked the piece about the moon bringing things into being on the material plane as I realised that, having a 7H moon, every important thing that I have done/made happen in my life has been with a partner (either a best friend, a business partner or a romantic partner)
