How Do Polish Villagers React To a Black Foreigner? (Social Experiment)

There is a stigma around black people when it comes to traveling in certain countries, especially in Eastern Europe. Is it because some people of colour complain about their experiences in European countries as a minority and how they think they are not treated well? In my travel videos across Europe I have been documenting my own reality of life as a foreigner and my experiences on how I engage with the local people I come across on my journeys where ever it is on or off the camera all of my encounters are the same.. My travels are comfortable and enjoyable and definitely loads fun. I do not feel like a victim or threatened because my colour when I travel. I believe this channel can educate people from an aspect that not all people of colour are always discriminated or judged, this can be seen in all my films from me showing my encounters in some of the most remote places I have visited in Europe such as, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and England. Although I know some people are racist but for their own reasons.. What advice can I give to anyone that wants to travel no matter the country you travel to or what your colour is. Be fearless, friendly and open to learn a few phrases for interactions, because I know it takes a lot of effort for people and confidence to approach a random stranger and start a conversation and that’s what my spontaneous village travels are about - interacting with the locals and showing how life is on the outside of the big cities and towns. Watch me on this village tour which is far from a touristic location where foreigners usually don’t go. Let’s have look how the Polish people interact with a foreigner. I Took The Wock To Poland. 😎

That poor guy at the beginning trying to help you find the store. Little did he know you’d misrepresent him in the thumbnail. That is INCREDIBLY disrespectful. Edit: I am seeming to get a lot of racist replies. Don't reply to my comment with hateful/racist remarks towards the creator. That is totally uncalled for and I will report you. Be above that.

The man was so nice and patient I’m black British and staying in a village as well about 31km from Warsaw centre. I can say it’s a a similar experience. Sometimes people stare in disbelief but if you chat with them or say “hello” they will greet you back I even visited a farmer there and at the time I was playing for a football team called “Ursus” Warszawa and he had a tractor 🚜 nearby. we had a little laugh about that and saw his pony too. Polish village > South London - Local foods, local poultry, raw honey, local vegetables.. it’s pure class.

Dear Andre, I hope you can fund more of your travels with these 'hidden' educative videos. I saw it randomly, attracted by the apparent title image, which picks up on the curiosity of people with a particular bias and assumptions, then I watched it whole while making pancakes with my little daughter and showing her what our Polish villages look like; it was so random and authentic, and it felt like we were walking there with you; we enjoyed these encounters with you. My daughter has never seen her country of origin (yet), and I was happy to show her a little in this way. There is much more to say about your video, but after reading your descriptive info above, it all makes sense now. Your excitement about seeing hens is hilarious; been living in the city too much?;-) By the way, this was not a local museum but the backyard of someone's house, haha. Careful entering someone's backyard sometimes, but with your open and friendly attitude, people certainly feel relaxed, curious and refreshed wherever you go. I would like to see such a random village video of yours from a country like Tunisia, Kuwait, or Bahrain. Polish people (and people in all countries) are generally curious and open-minded toward encounters and meeting people from other cultures and people who look different. But once immigration reaches some critical mass, certain groups of people stop being open and see them as a threat. We are still far away from societies being united and living a new reality that is not 'them against us'. I doubt this will be possible, assuming this is engrained in human nature of survival. This an important topic requiring research about it to be known globally and locally in all corners, so we can all relate more and understand how our worlds work.

Poland is under attack by propaganda, CNN, BBC, Russian propaganda, which the Western media have liked to spread for 8 years ... as time has shown, it was a game to destabilize Poland before Putin attacked Ukraine, but people in the west continue to misinform about Poland every day. Brussels liked it best, using Russian propaganda about Poland for its own purposes. There is no justice in the world.

I don't think it's fair to say that people are more racist in more remote areas with less foreigners. They will be more cautious, curious, suspicious even, but this does not mean that they are xenophobic or racist. Multicultural and ethnically diverse cities are not utopias just by the virtue of their existence, and when you see large amounts of migrant workers and refugees in an area you can also see increased levels of racism among some working class populations whose traditional position in society is being undermined by increased competition for reduced wages. Studies show that immigration has a net positive effect on a country's gdp, but also that it has a negative impact on the working classes, the gap between rich and poor increases, but at least the gdp stats look good

First - the shop wasn't in the village but in a nearby town, Ustroń - so you've made quite a distance. You got lucky - in Poland it is... forbidden to drink alcohol outside 😉 Although, actually, if any police patrol would be passing by, their minds would fail to compile such an uncommon view - a black person drinking Polish beer 🤣 And Tyskie is actually not regarded as a good beer, although it is a very common one. There is a never-ending war between "Tyskie" and "Żywiec" brands. Dom Ludowy is kind of local facility maintained by local authority, but is meant for various cultural or sports events. How did you even get there? 😁 Nice video!

Wykazał zaangażowanie i zainteresowanie polskim językiem i kulturą. A wstręt z historii mamy do tych, co na nasz język i kulturę pluli, więc tak stare pokolenia lub naturalnie wszyscy odróżniamy człoweika miłego od potencjalnego wroga.

If some travellers have a problem with their skin colour, please people, do not transfer your insecurities to Poles. We, Poles, had never had slaves. People in Poland, especially in the countryside, may be curious to see travellers from around the world, but there are no racists. If you are friendly and smiling, they will be friendly back. If you appear miserable, entitled and rude, they will ignore you or will be unfriendly back. Top tip: learn some Polish. It is a sign of respect. They live in Poland and do not have to speak English.

@@truthbird1527 I was in Ukraine and I had to come to India. Unfortunately, my flight was from Warsaw so I had to go there. Yup I was just waiting for a comment like you. I was just waiting for the racism. By the way , wtf do you guys settle in UK ? Was it brought by your ancestors ? How shamelessly you guys yourself immigrate to west but show racism to other people. I doubt if even 0.01% of polish population is Indian ? If you would have not been part of EU and Shenegen you would have been one of the poorest countries in Europe.

@@truthbird1527 I myself am a trans girl and I was never raped here. Nobody knows with how many people your parents slept. Everyone is just cheating there. We might be poor but we are happy (my parents make thrice of what an average pole earns) , whites immigrating ! 😂😂 Wasn't Hitler white ? Isn't Putin white ? Why are you so scared of them ? EU has threatened you so many times bcz of your anti lgbt stance. Aren't those western Europeans white ? 60% of my friends are white. I have visited to most countries of western Europe(except Netherlands) I never felt disrespect or racism. My best friend is from Manchester. Indian Americans are the richest social group in US. Indians are just 2 % of England but we contribute to 6 % of total world economy. We were one of the richest countries until colonalisation happened and the golden bird will again fly , sooner or later.

For all the people who are positively suprised in the comments by kindness from locals in Poland and expected something different. Polish people's (especially elders who remember times of war or shortly after) greatest values are Mother Poland itself, hospitality and liberty. They are so important mostly because of our history and ancestors - sarmatians. It would be great if you visited our country and I assure you that there is nothing to worry about. :))

Hi. Here, in Poland, in smaller towns, for people to meet someone with a different skin color is not everyday life, but rather a special event. People are wild at times, but that doesn't come from disliking someone but just because they are not familiar with such situations.

Very specific point of view. People from small villages are much more familiar with diferrent colour skin people than from big cities.

same in Croatia. It is rare and people are just curios with no hatred or bad intentions...They would also help and if they look too much, its most likely not racist, but seeing someone like that for the first time ever.
