Make sure it's a the live version. There is an official video, but it's not as 'Epic' as the fan-made live one imho. The offical vid is well done, but I find the live registration to have a better vibe.

I've been lucky to see Epica twice in my hometown (one of them with Dragonforce!!), and they put a hell of a show. One of those I was able to get a vip ticket and met them face to face, and they're freakin cool and funny, and Simone in person.... "nosebleed". While in the same genre, they're definitly heavier sounding than Nightwish, and Mark Jansen's (not afiliated with Floor :p) growls definitely help, love the contrast between his harsh growls and Simone heavenly voice.

The master behind all of this is the dutch Arjen Lucassen. In september there will be several concerts in the Netherlands en the fans are coming from all over the world. Next time react to Design your Universe (live Retrospect), Kingdom of Heaven, Essence of Silence live, The Obsessive Devotion live. Simone writes some lyrics, Mark (lead guitars) also writes and arranges the guitar parts, and all the orchestra and choir arrangements are done and created by Coen (keyboards). well that's 2 of the big dutch lady singers done, other one left is Sharon Den Adel at Within Temptation who's another vocal beast. Must admit I was at download (i'm on the pic of the band selfie at the end of the gig) and i didn't expect a wall of death but sheesh. Still think you should listen to Tarja though, nightwish are the projenitors of symphonic metal and Tarja has been a massive influence on the singing style, admitted by Simone herself in interviews. though must admit after hearing this again i'm ready for a little Amon Amarth or Arch Enemy

Hey, just to help: what they did there at the beginning, splitting the crowd to clash back together is called a wall of death its a form of moshpit that you'll often see when there's a hefty part in a song coming 🙂 PS: don't know if it'll be your thing (it's only growls) but Gojira is a very awesome band that often warrants wall of deaths or circlepits, try their songs silvera or stranded
