Well... Im upset you didnt use a bit of painters drop plastic at the base of the house mate... Honestly? I would call you a dunce and smack the back of your head for putting that onto the stucco. Because now, if you do something as foolish as use that pressure washer on the house to rinse what youve put on it.. you may as well have to restore the area. Its quite easy to do a good job on the surface.. but.. the lack of forethought on protecting the stucco.. really makes me think your an incompassionate or thoughtless child.

I look out for my neighbours every time we have cold callers in our area, I follow them around and make sure the neighbors are ok. We had a very elderly lady opposite us, sadly no longer with us and a salesman was trying to sell her double glazing, she was about to give in when I told him where to go, she was 89 at the time and the windows were fine. Good on you man, for not only giving the lady the job she deserved but for taking time to have a chat.

The sad reality of it is the elderly are easy to con/scam, for the most part. My own aunt fell for an online scam where a "voodoo doctor" would communicate with her dead son if she sent him money, and she did... multiple times despite us telling her she was being scammed, but she was so hopeful to hear from her dead son again that she tuned us out. And that kind of thing runs rampant, they're too trusting of random people.
@nigelft2 жыл бұрын
@@PhunkieZero To say nothing of the fact when they were our age, a person's word was their bond, and few would even _think_ of conning the elderly back in the 1930s, and '40s ... I'm only 75 & I paid $205 upfront because I knew the person who only days AFTER TAKING THE MONEY told me that he couldn't start weeding for two weeks but he'd have it done by the time I returned from NC . I was gone for 9 days and he was supposed to weed whack 2 inch high weeds to dirt while I was gone putting in one hour a day WEED WHACKING for nine days. I'd additionally given this "friend" $90 on top of the $205 to open 4 cans of cat food daily for my 4 cats in my absence ( he's less than HALF a block away from me ) every day. After two weeks the 2" weeds were 3 inches high. Very few portions of the back yard had weeds ( MOST OF THE BACK is covered in pavers) but upon my return NOTHING AT ALL had been done. He said his visiting daughter was epileptic and he had to watch her but he'd do it before he went on vacation to Morocco and Korea but he had to prepare for his trip and pack months went by. His daughter had long returned to Morocco months ago ( she only visited him in the States ) during her visit I weeded by hand because WEEDS DON'T STOP GROWING and they were 6 to 8i inches when I did them. This gave him a healthy headstart and I sent him pictures of how much of his work I'd done for him and still he kept ducking me. Excuse after excuse. long & SHORT it's almost a full year and he's never lifted a finger - rather than being honorable, he's telling our mutual friends that I told him not to do anything, like on a fixed income with property taxes so high they eat a third of my Social Security check so I have to sell and relocate after living here almost 54yrs. since I was 22. Serious lack of morals is an understatement. Not only was this a con but he's lying about it now- icing on the 🎂 cake. I had the backyard down to dirt the fall before but the guy died and the landscaping fabric never got installed. After the winter in March? April ? as soon as I saw the first bit of green emerging I showed him the yard and he said $22/hour to whack it to dirt was good, off the books. He'd do it as a 'favor' for me. UNIVERSE, YOU HANDLE IT FOR ME AND HIS OUTRIGHT LIES ! I'm done with his 💩 poop and nonsense ! Now the 5' bent over weeds are costing me another $270-$360 we're mid clearing BECAUSE they're no longer 2-3 inches and that's not down to dirt either, it's just so it doesn't look like a jungle. This is AFTER THE FIRST CLEARING that my 75 year old knees did.

She paid way too much cash for a tree to be chopped down. They told her it was diseased, there was nothing wrong with it. I stopped three direct debits going through from charities. She had dementia, it would have been obvious she didn’t know what she was signing up for, yet they did it anyway. It upset her as she knew she’d done something ‘wrong’ but didn’t know what 😢 She came to live with me for the last five years of her life, she was comfortable, happy and protected. @ron donnis You sir should pay attention to the introduction - he explains that she was pretty much conned by another company/person (she paid upfront and didn't get she paid for). I would venture to guess she did not have funds to pay someone else. Fortunately, this content will more than pay for the work he has done. REWARDING as he said.

I know I'm a year late to the party on this one, but I just wanted to say I love your work ethic and attitude! And I love what you do for the more vulnerable members of our society. Speaks great volumes to your personality and the type of person you are. And I have to give credit to your parents for obviously raising you right. As for this job. What the previous person/people did is shameful, and that sort of thing is a huge reason why I absolutely _refuse_ to pay for a job up-front. I don't mind paying out up to half - especially if there are material costs to consider before the job can even begin. But once you've given them the cost for the whole job, there's really no incentive for them to actually do a _good_ job ... or even do it at all. They've already got what they wanted - the money. I don't care how big their company is, how many employees they've got, how good they _think_ their reputation is or what kind of other assurances they try to give me (all excuses I've heard in attempts to get me to pay up-front for entire jobs) - I'm no fool or easily-tricked person and I won't be scammed like that. Not when my finances are so damned tight month-to-month. I simply can't afford to take the risk.

Sadly there are far too many dishonest "trademen" that are willing to take the hard earned, saved and limited funds of the elderly and blatantly do very little or low quality work in return. Thankfully there are tradespeople like you out there who provide a value for money service and take pride in their work. Nice one.

The end of this video is the most wholesome thing I've seen in ages! I miss when my kids were that little, enjoy it while you can. Every moment is precious. Mine are teenagers now and i get to do stuff like banish them from the kitchen at 2am when they attempt eating a 5th meal. I don't agree with not giving money upfront. As a small business owner I can't afford to get shafted on payment for a job and I've noticed especially in the pressure washing business people will have you come clean the house exterior, fences, and driveway, not pay then when you try to go after them the house has been sold and they've disappeared. Having to pay upfront is not always a scam sometimes it's just good sense. Edit: I've never left a customer who didn't like the work I had done. I always have them come inspect that what I've done is to their satisfaction. That said I have run into people (not a lot admittedly it's a very small percentage) who will try to say I didn't do good work in order to get some or all of their money back. Luckily I document thoroughly the conditions of a property before I start working and take several photos after I finish and it all goes into a customer file along with information on the customer that is necessary and any notes good or bad I find prudent to enter.

Oh My Goodness! Your boys are So Stinkin ADORABLE! The laughter from your younger one on the swing melted my heart! It took me back 30+ years to when mine were that old and laughed in a way only babies and toddlers can!!! Thanks for sharing that! Hold them tight, and record, record , and record all you can, so that you have this to look back upon when they are all grown! How people can scam and bully our older generation is beyond me! It seems a large percentage of people anymore, haven't the slightest of morals or empathy for others any longer! Plenty of empathy for themselves yes, but for anyone else? No! But Thank Heaven above, there seems to be a growing number of people like yourself and many others I've seen on YT, that want to help right those wrongs and who just want to help in general! So Thank You for all you do for your community and bringing us along! God Bless, Take Care and Stay Safe!!!
