as someone who traveld japan, and went to a more expensive restaurant to check it out. its not worth at all, go to a small place where the chef is a random old guy making food for years. got the best stuff at places like this for 5-15$

Even the not so expensive restaurants serve great food. Some of the ramen restaurants are the best in the world and less expensive than other places in the world.

As a past tourist I can say I am in no way rich. I literally made my chequing $1 at the END of the trip. Maybe senior citizens..

You don't have to be wealthy to live like a king in Japan with the exchange rate right now. We went in April and we had meals that would cost 30%-50% more in the US for comparable portions and it would be of lesser quality too.

Great article. Japan have places and restaurants to serve all types of visitors. That's why everyone loves Japan!

A lot of non-wealthy people ware willing to spend money on Kobe beef too. Even though the food might be expensive, most people are willing to try at least one expensive meal.

Oh come on, why cover wealthy people? No one wants to see that. Also this is exactly the wrong thing to put into japanese people’s minds. To think that Japan is 1st: cheap and that 2nd: foreign tourists all have money. I work with tourists coming to Japan. The big majority does have a budget. Not even 10% of the people who come here are rich.

It is literally just a less than six-minute video. Where does it claim that ALL tourists in Japan are wealthy??? Chill out.

@ I’ll never understand this notion of trying to brush off someone’s comment by saying something like “calm down” or “chill out”. I don’t need to chill out. Whether I am chilled out or not has nothing to do with anything. You obviously don’t live in Japan and follow japanese news. This is exactly the kind of bs japanese people are bombarded with on a daily basis which leads to japanese people thinking that all foreign tourists have deep pockets. The result is that japanese people think that they can try price gauging which has been a hot topic the last year. Charging different prices for foreigners and people who live in Japan. Mostly however ending in only raising prices for everyone, including the people who live here. That has real world consequences as japanese people’s income hasn’t gone up but prices are being charged that japanese customers simply can’t afford. So yes, it is a very important topic and it’s ok to not be chilled out about it. And when this channel perpetuates this practice I’m criticizing them for it.

Please have more articles on what the wealthy foreign visitors do in Japan. I am curious.

Our economy is not your playground. All you Foreigners don't care about the impact you leave on our people and culture. Normal Japanese citizens can barely survive here.
