Hi Adam! I discovered your channel thanks to being a subscriber to Matt's channel. I decided to take a look at some more of your videos over the past 48 hours. I am delighted to subscribe to your channel, too. I am aged 68 and have played golf for 34 years - half my life (except that I had a break of almost 10 years when work got in the way). Now retired, I live in England and play three times a week. My home course is rated 71.4 with a slope of 127. My lowest handicap would have been 9.6 under WHS. The UK used to have a different handicapping system. Now, I have a WHS index of 14.7 but believe that I could still get it down by a shot or two. I am an optimist, by nature! My personal best score was 74 gross; and in my forties, before my playing break, I frequently shot under 80 gross. Now, I am a high 80s shooter with occasional scores around 82-83. I can no longer drive it much beyond 200 yards (I am five feet seven inches and weigh 155 pounds with cervical spine problems and arthritis.) However, your videos have convinced me that I do not need more length off the tee. I just need a sharper short game to reduce the number of double bogeys! You have a great temperament and my friends say that I do, too. So, doing better, from inside 100 yards, is the key to scoring lower more consistently. That will require a sharper focus on each shot in order to reduce the rank bad ones. I like your "no nonsense" editing style. You just show every shot and do a voice over to explain what you were thinking at the time. In saying that, I take nothing away from the Playa's contrasting style. I enjoy his content very much; and his move to the USA should prove to be a source of even more entertaining material. Anyway, after this long post, I need to continue to catch up with your back catalogue. Please keep posting!

On the subject of green reading, I think it's said by coaches that most amateurs under-read putts. I'd call myself a decent putter, consistently under 2 putt average but I think this year I'm going to add 0.5 to 1 ball of extra break and see what happens

Two fantastic golf channels that have helped me understand that ego impacts scores more than technique sometimes. Little putting tips and tricks could be some fun videos. Maybe a minute long video where you give a quick tip about the putter face, reading the green, or even a drill or two that you do before a round of golf. They could be a fast paced video which could change things up away from the course vlog content that you have truly mastered.

Great vlog. Fun to see you and Matt Together. Shows you there's more than one way to get it done. I am in he same boat as you, distance challenged, so short game has to be great. Like you, I pretty much keep it in front of me, try to miss in the right spots and rely on chipping, pitching and putting to score. Short game and putting vids would be great, no quicker way to shave strokes than to sharpen the short game. 70% of your scores are from 70 yards and in. Working on my backswing/take away and transition to improve my distance. Unfortunately for me golf season is still a few months away. Always rooting for you to play your best.

@chrisw55742 жыл бұрын
I'd say his short game and short memory are his biggest strengths by far. He typically drains multiple long putts per video and his lag putts leave him with very few three putts. Combine that with forgetting the last hole before you start the next one and it's easy to see how he can score right a long with someone hitting 300 yard bombs while he's only plunking them out there 230ish off the tee.

#1 tip i have for you adam, your arms are to low across your chest at the top of your back swing. If your take away is closer to your body and arms high towards the air above your chest at the top, you will gernerate more lag and club speed on your follow through. Your flexibility looks good but you arent alowing your arms to lag at the start of the down swing killing club head speed.

I'm going to tell you right now the issue you're having with distance. Almost all amateur golfers do this, including me. It's called "hitting the brakes." Please, watch this video to find out what you're doing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5WyiYmojJp2gqc . On almost every one of your shots other than driver, you're "hitting the brakes." This robs you of all distance you'd otherwise have. Not to mention, it really alters your aim. You're stopping your swing instead of doing a full follow through. The only way to do this is to start easing up before you even get to the ball. it's costing you dearly. I wouldn't tell you this if I hadn't had the same problem. Many of your wedge and mid irons, you're not even getting around at all and they appear as chip shots.
