Hi Brian, how would you suggest maintaining my Visconti Homo Sapiens? Do I need to send it somewhere or can I do it myself? I clean it regularly but I am concerned about the lubrication. Are noodlers eel inks a substitute for lubrication?

I had Richard Binder work on my Homo Sapiens pen during a pen show. Had lots of hard starts. Sent it to Visconti which when it came back was worse than before. Richard worked his magic in about 10 minutes. The pen writes extremely well with no hard starts. The nib unscrews from the section similar to other pens like Pelikan. I don't do it often but it does allow access to the barrel. I do not know how to disassemble the rest of the pen. But it helps a lot to get access to the barrel.

Hey Brian, I've been watching your videos (and buying your pens) for a few months and I recently stumbled upon the Edison Pearlette. I think it's an absolutely beautiful pen in the Aztec colorway, but I'm afraid it will be too small for me. Do you know if I could get the pen in a bigger size with a #6 nib by Edison? If not, do you know any pens that would be similar in design and material? (and preferably in the same price range)

When you are using pens with seals and gaskets you are eventually going to have to replace those parts when wear and aging causes those seals to fail. With a converter, you simply throw them out and install a new converter. With the higher end pens you are going to have to have them serviced. They are like watches in this regard.
