And I thought I was alone with this issue, I can see it happens to others .

Thank you for this Marie. The topics you talk about are so real and happen to a lot of us but they are so rarely talked about that I cant ever find an answer unless I watch your channel❤

I have a neighbor that says this all the time. And yes, taking Marie’s suggestion. I say something snarky, ‘well congratulations! ‘

Not everything one says has to be “groundbreaking” or “earth-shattering.” There isn’t an original thought that hasn’t already been thought or said by somebody else. So, say it anyway! Fully agree, Marie, they’re not going to muzzle us.

It stems from jealousy and competitiveness. Most nice people say “I heard about that too, isn’t it great?”then they proceed to chat about it with you!

They are so insecure , that’s why they feel they need to let you know that they know with a cranky tone…. Somehow you trigger their insecurities.

Is she talking about people telling you something they're excited about or something that happened in their life, or people telling you things that are common sense "like if you want a spoon open the drawer" cause when people tell me stuff like this and treat me like I'm stupid, then I'm always like "I know how to do that"

It’s rude and mean spirited as is “Ya think?”

This is a great video. Thanks for making it. Even if I already know something, I always listen to what the person has to say. In many cases, I receive details that I was unaware of.

Sometimes I gently touch their arm, then sweetly smile and say “oh, I know you know a lot more than I do, but this is completely new and I got excited and I just wanted to share”.

Hi Marie, thank you for all of your great advice! I need some advice too. How to handle a friend that constantly interrups when I tell a personal experience, to extensively comment on it. She then continues with her own story, when I haven't completely told mine. Of course I am interested in her comments, but it feels like she takes over my story and I am left feeling unheard.

Hello Marie! Not only do they play the “I already knew that” card, they also downplay any success or good things you tell them. I just avoid them altogether.

Hi Marie, can you please do a video on friends that you always give emotional support to, and then in times when you need it they say “i don’t know what to say” or they “get scared” of you crying? Because of this girl, I felt like a complete weirdo for even opening up and expressing my thoughts and feelings. However, whenever she needed help or support I always listened to her and never judged her. She will be my future SIL one day, so I cannot COMPLETELY cut her out of my life. Recently it’s only been me keeping contact with her, but i stopped. What should I do?

I am 20 years old. This girl is 23 and we’ve been best friends for around 4 years. When she was 19 her engagement broke off and I helped her come out of her depression. Even at the age of 15/16 I didn’t judge her and I gave her emotional support despite barely knowing her. After 4 years of barely receiving any emotional support, at least a kind listening ear, I received nothing. And I just kept on giving and giving into her victim mindset.

Can you give an example? I can't even think of an example of this. Like do you mean when some one accidentally tells me the same news again? If so I'm guilty of this. I say, oh yes, I remember you telling me this, but still let them continue if they want.
