How Do You Successfully Attack A Motte And Bailey Castle?

Most motte and bailey castles appeared after 1066 but there were at least 4/5 castles in England before that date.Normans who came to England with Edward the Confessor after 1046 were gifted land and built castles there.Hereford castle,Clavering castle,Richards castle and Ewyas Harold Castle are a few named ones but there may have been more.

motte and bailey castles usually housed just a few buildings in the bailey? Usually the paintings I saw just draw few buildings

Hi Pedro! They housed lots of different buildings depending on the size of the castle. Some had chapels in them even, most had kitchens, barracks for soldiers and many other buildings such as stores for food. Thanks for your comment!
