How do you use a public restroom in a kilt?

Many public bathrooms do not have a hook anymore, it having broken off years ago. So, depending on the stall hook to hang the kilt may not be an option. However, I have a small homemade hook that I carry with me to hang over the door of the stall, just in case.

I typically tuck the back of my kilt up into the belt of my kilt. Just remember to untuck it before leaving the twalette!

Maybe it's just me but the way Eric turns over to Rocky I'm always expecting a Bullwinkle joke. The reverse would definitely get a chuckle when Rocky turns over to Eric, Eric says the old joke "hey Rocky watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat". I'm not busting on you guys by any means big fan. But us older guys would definitely get a good laugh.

I always try to have a number 2 before I go out in my great kilt, I'm thinking I would be in trouble trying to get the kilt back on as washrooms are too small to lay the blanket down to make the pleats, I have watched a video where the guy held one side of the material and folded it up but I still think I would have trouble putting it on properly, I wear my great kilt quite often but I have lots of regular kilts that I wear all the time, I have limited movement in my knees and I have trouble wearing trousers but I have no trouble putting on my kilts. I live in Nova Scotia Canada now but I was born in Glasgow Scotland, I don't know of any Scots who wear the kilt all the time but I know there are some in the USA. I'm 67 and I can't think of a more comfortable thing to wear and I've been wearing it for several years now.

At home i'll take it off but if you're out and you're sittin'.... Knees apart, flip the back up and gather the loose material to the front and take up the slack between your legs with your offhand keeping it tight so it doesn't touch the cistern/back of toilet. Wipe with main hand until you see a clean sheet, then wipe again. Stand up, step away from the bowl and shufty everything back down (checking your pleats ofc) Final stamp to settle and go wash yer mitts. Works for me No stowaway stoats thus far...

Never had a problem using the mens room. I dont go near the pink room. No one else seem bothered either.

Perhaps I don’t get the problem right but as a woman and passionate skirt wearer I would recommend to just sit down and lift the kilt. In my experience it works for skirts in all lengths and widths. Only for very voluminous long skirts with hoopskirts or things like that it can work better when you sit down facing the wall. But I would be really curious if there’s a particular potty problem concerning kilts.

What would be yalls thoughts on an additional piece under the kilt like suspenders so that when you must go you can pull them up over your shoulders and use that to keep the kilt out of mess

I carry a wee bit of ducktape and an old deck of cards. And of course sanitary wipes, in me sporran.

Remembering to move the sporran to the side first or your coins, keys etc will fall out when you flip the front of kilt up.

I wear a great kilt. Theres no taking it off. Pissing isnt a problem. BUT I have an "emergency" system in place. My wife carries a big bag so I keep a pair of trousers in that bag. What I will do is put the pants on under the kilt and then take the kilt off, let my wife hold it as I use the bathroom then her and I will fold the kilt over I will wrap it around myself like a sash and pin it with my broach and wear that the rest of the day. No men dont wear sashes typically BUUUUUT exceptions have to be made.

Ask any woman who has worn skirts or dresses. We’ve dealt with this issue many, many times. Now, try doing this with full-shirted garb in a portapotty. Hoo boy!

Not sure what the problem is??!!! Women wear skirts and dresses all the time and we don't have a problem using a toilet. Just lift the whole kilt up around your waist and bring the material towards the front, hold it with your non-dominant hand, sit down, then wipe with your dominant hand.

1. Girls are often raised wearing skirts, we aren't alway raised to wear kilts so it's learning a new skill. 2. I've seen plenty of lasses with a stowaway stoat after a drunken toilet trip. 3. Most blokes only wear kilts where beer is involved so see point above lol.
