Laura and Aaron, you don't need to be concerned about not posting on Facebook. All your people know to watch you on U Tube anyway. Just know that the people that follow you are strongly loyal and committed gardeners that really value what you share. Personally speaking, you are the first part of my day with my coffee. If you don't post I will watch something from previous posts ( Mom and Moniqua shopping day ) You have taught me so much. Your biggest lessons for me has been if you don't love something it's ok to take it out. Another big lesson is don't be afraid to move it. But the most important lesson you taught me .... is if something doesn't grow you aren't a failure it could be a lot of different things. We all love you. Thank you from us.

Laura, if you do ever have the porch created around your home, just have some porch railings added. Then you can still enjoy window boxes by hanging them off the outside of the railings. Creates a beautiful effect that way & you still get to enjoy window boxes. 😁

You often approach things realistically or have input I have not considered and I find myself wanting you to continue on when you do give your opinion on certain matters. I understand why you both try to stay neutral on a lot of subjects (at least with your video content, I’m sure you express your opinions off screen 😉) and I can see how that would be difficult with that type of segment. I so enjoy watching you two. Great quiet afternoon break. I’ve learned so much! The cardboard over grass was/is a game changer. I wish like crazy that the “powers that be” would put a heat index, or something on each plant like they do for cold zones because for those of us living in the opposite extreme (I’m in south central Texas ), it’s just as important for us to know what can or cannot take our crazy heat.

Same! I’m in west Tx so it’s desert like here, and things often can’t take our Tx sun. For example, coleus is supposed to go all the way to zone 10. I bought some last yr, and the ONLY way it survived was bc I put it in pots that I could move to the shade during the hottest part of the day. When gardeners say plant coleus bc it can take the heat, I’m always like it can’t take Tx heat!

I had it on a conservatory roof years ago. It worked to a point, with bird mess etc, it broke it down quicker I think. But our conservatory had lead flashing between the roof and the house wall and it reacted in some way and led to the coating discolouring. We had months of disputes with the people who installed our conservatory and the glass maker. In the end we sold up before it was resolved, but it was a pain.

Landscape lighting is actually one of the easiest garden things to do yourself. Maybe touch base with Jack Barnwell for some pointers but it’s just a matter of picking where you want up lights (light trees) and down lights (pathway). With warm led lights (I hate the cheaper bright white) now being available you can run a lot of lights on one transformer.

I had an arborist here tell me that it used to be common practice to plant trees with all string, burlap and stuff around the root ball. I found this out because I had a 20 year old maple that I found rope sticking out of the ground around. That stuff does not break down. Do not let people plant your stuff that way. It's really sad when these people who call themselves professionals have no idea what they're doing. Mulch volcanoes, incorrect pruning and planting, etc.

I looked into buying a Hartley. I asked the salesman about the self-cleaning glass. Aaron is on the right track. I live in Northern Virginia. We get a fair amount of rain. The salesman still discouraged it. He said the glass needed quite a bit of moisture/rain to self -clean. He thought it was only effective in areas like Seattle where there was sufficient moisture and rain to aide in the self-cleaning process. I imagine much of England where the Hartley originates has the moisture needed. It was also incredibly expensive. It raised the cost easily a third. Still have Hartley dreams, but opted for something a little less grand and utilitarian.

I would love a "Thoughts with Aaron" segment! Do the thing! 😆 I also think Aaron is 100 percent right on this one about verification, ads and needing two models for people to choose from. Some people don't mind ads but for some they may feel it is worth it to pay for ad-free. I also get annoyed when platforms (cough KZbin) put in so many ads that it feels like they are trying to push you to pay more for the ad free because they have so many ads and interrupt videos so often that it makes things practically unwatchable. I also have recently had the experience of having a subscription (not KZbin) where even though it is paid for they STILL had ads, if it hadn't been one that had been purchased as a gift for me I would have cancelled it on the spot!

Good morning, Laura & Aaron ☕️ IMO, Facebook is the worst! I wouldn’t waste my time with them. I took myself off FB the end of 2020 and it was one of the best decision that year. KZbin is so much better. Another great recap. Question 🙋🏼‍♀️ for Aaron; what was that “brick/staw analogy comment? Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈

Love the idea of ground level water with water springing up.

I loved, loved, loved seeing your spring planters. Here in northern South Dakota, all of my flower beds are under five feet of snow. It is supposed to be below zero again this week so I can't even uncover my zone five roses which I winter in planters in my garage. I cannot wait for warm, melting weather!

A low water feature maybe like the ones u see at playgrounds n city parks, wer it shoots outa the existing water pool, into the air. Kinda like the fancy ones u see in Vegas or Disneyland etc. Ur kiddos would love it, n it won't obstruct ur view in any direction.

Some long church bench pews would look amazing in from of the cold frames and could act as a stool for planting.💐

A below level water garden in the center of the flower gardens would be so unusual from all the other plants you can grow. You can get away with just an inch of water or a boggy format. So many exotic flowers and plants to try. And the nice thing about having a water garden...you can't over-water!

For planting a tree or shrub that is wrapped in either the metal basket or burlap with the twine, for me, I have always removed it from around the root ball. It makes a world of difference when working around the tree or shrub. I have a few trees in my garden that people have planted way before I moved in to my townhouse and I find it very hard to plant as I am removing or trying to remove the twine that has worked it self up to the surface. All I can say is that it is a pain in the butt.

Great recap! Laura, you would be a bunch of flowers, but Hellebores come to mind first. They are tough, reliable, hard working and one of the first plants to spring up!❤

I agree with you, Aaron! If verification came with better control of scamming, I'd be all in, but there is absolutely nothing for content creators except having a checkmark. I have to pay for my website to be verified and all it does is make it so when people come to the website they don't get an automatic "this website is not verified" notation which makes people question the validity of the website. It's just a con to make you pay for unnecessary stuff.
