I watched a video a couple of years ago, with a guy explaining exactly why you don't need a watch winder. He likened it to driving your car home from work and then leaving it ticking over all night !! Sounds strange but he explained, that a auto watch (obviously) has many working parts like a small engine. With modern oils the watch can be left fine for many weeks or even months. If a auto watch is constantly working, parts will wear quicker, just like a car engine would if you left it running all the time. I own eighty odd autos and none of them are in winders. I have never had a problem with any of them. Great video btw !!

Yeah exactly, nor do I advocate for the use of watch winders, it's just an accessory of you want one or a display but 0 actual benefit

Thank you for your channel that I appreciate and follow from Florida in the USA. This in someway I associate to the common practice of consumers that regularly in their lack of functionality and yes laziness go to a bank and use the drive through and make their banking transactions from the car and by choice prefer to not walk inside the bank’s floor to see the bank teller or those who commonly order food from their car instead of ordering inside the fast food restaurant again to remain further lazy.. I for one will pop open the crown of my watches and get these running in less than one minute with approximately turning the crown ten times.. Thank you and all subscribers of your great channel - reviews.. Rick - Florida USA

Yeah but this is a gimmicky accessory at best, but you know what people buy em. I'm the same, I've got this one and another just sitting there

Your intro covered me 110%, so... If only somebody gifts me a (quarter million...) super duper perpetual calendar I'll probably need this. But then I'll worry more to insure that thing, not wind it! Be well mate, cheers.

I think it’s very cool if you have the money. But I can buy such a nice watch for that money. Or multiple watches. What we forget sometimes is that to most of the people in the world, spending $100 on a Pagani Design is also outrageous so everything is relative. Thanks for showing it to us though. 👍🏼

I manually grind my coffee. Watch goes on my right hand, vigorous few mintues of grinding, watch is wound fully.. Saved myself 855 quid!

Hello, Hope you are well. The one Question ive always had regarding Watch Winders, i think its finally been answered, which is, it has no real effect on the overall watch movements longevity &/or Health, and the only practical use is the convenience of not having to adjust the time & date everytime you pick a watch to wear. Am i Right ? If i ever buy one, which I probably would, would be for purely aesthetic reasons. Probably add it above my PC set up. To show Off some of my timepieces. ✌️
@TheWatcherReviewsАй бұрын
Yes, it's purely for aesthetics, but there's also an argument it can cause excessive wear to your watch if it's constantly running and you have a few watch collections. I.e. watches can be used and parked up and then used as opposed to one constantly running.
@SlimDonniАй бұрын
@TheWatcherReviews I see. That makes a lot of sense bro, constantly running adds to wear & tear. Also I don't mind adjusting the time or hand winding, I actually enjoy that part, but recently I've come to hate having to adjust the Date, even though it's practically the same thing, lol Thanks for replying. Stay Bless.

Yeh bro, these are the stages we go thru lmao, I've got about 40 odd watches and dates are a ball ache, even worse is the day/date 😂😂 so I prefer dateless, then you get caught without the date when you need it and have to make the long journey into your pocket to get out a 25cm phone 🤣🤣🤣

@SlimDonni yeh for sure man, I've got a playlist of my latest one a few months back, like 3/4 categories bro lmao I got balls deep into the hobby but haven't bought anything in a while now, nothings really jumped out for a while

Good review, but why would you want something that wears your mechanical watch out quicker 🤔
@TheWatcherReviewsАй бұрын
Those rolex and AP wearing crowd that want their watches spinning away 😂 Ur right, 0 practicality
@brianmccord7387Ай бұрын
Stavros nails this one. Unless I manage to nick a perpetual calendar / multi complication haute horologerie watch I have no need for this, and even then I don't want one that looks like a wine fridge.
