Thanks for the time taken to explain the MAP sensor functionality however I've carried out a similar test on my diesel engine and the max value seems to read 1.8v even after revving at W.O.T. What could be the issue?

You can use these methods on any sensor petrol or diesel just me mindful the actual readings may differ but the approach is the same.
