Hmmm - an imprint is usually just a brand under the umbrella of a larger label that specializes in something specific, usually a genre. Often an imprint is not a company itself but just a name and logo that may have its own team, but usually uses the infrastructure (accounting, marketing, distro) of it’s parent company. They aren’t very common in the indie space, more of a major label thing.
