Is there always gas card inside car or sometimes pay gas out of pocket?
@JandCToronto6 жыл бұрын
There should be enough gas in the car. If not, put in $5 or enough to complete your trip. Send them a photo of the receipt and they reimburse you.

So do we! It would be nice if they were to expand the home area out west.

I always thought Car2Go was slang for a portable knitted sweater that fastened down the front, typically with long sleeves.

Great video by the way, as always, informational and entertaining.

It's shame Car2Go pulled out of Toronto due to conflict with the city regarding residential parking.

We wish this was sponsored! We literally did it just because we thought it would be helpful. And bummer - now Car2Go isn't even in Toronto! (We ended up having to buy a car, since we're Realtors and we refuse to pay for Ubers and taxis all the time to get around.)

Too bad the Toronto city government made it impossible for them to do business here and now they are replaced by another company doing the exact same thing.
@JandCToronto6 жыл бұрын
We were upset when they pulled out of Toronto. :-( Who is the other company doing the same thing? From what we understand, it's still just Maven, Zipcar and Enterprise. None of which are even close to Car2Go. None of them are charged per minute, they all have to be dropped in the same location they were picked up (specific lots), none have free street parking (which was the city's issue with Car2Go) and this makes them all inferior to Car2Go (in our opinion.)

@@JandCToronto the new kid in town is communauto which has the exact same model as car2go. They operate in Quebec currently with the one-way and two-way model as well as Paris France. Their rates are $0.41 a minute, $15 an hour, $50 for the first day and $35 for the second day. I stumbled on one of their cars in my Leslieville neighborhood so I looked them up and found out they're doing the same thing. Their daily rental rates are very reasonable but their zone of operation for one way rides is much smaller than car2go was. Somehow they got permission to park on city streets. Not sure why the city screwed car to go over because their model is so much better than the two-way model. It was by far the cheapest way to get around the city other than TTC.

Thanks, David. I just looked it up... this is annoying!

@@JandCToronto yes I think the problem was that car2go was having to constantly change their parking model as restrictions changed with the city of Toronto and when faced with the per car permit fee they thought it was too high and therefore pulled out but, communauto apparently faces the same permit fees so we will see how they do. If you want to do a video about it I'd be game to participate.
@JandCToronto6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! If we do a video, it may not be until warmer weather. We'll see if Communauto is still around then if they are facing the same permit fees... We did eventually have to buy a car. With no Car2Go and being busy with Real Estate, it wasn't financially sound to use one of the other companies that were left when Car2Go said goodbye to Toronto.
