so many people cover about crypto, but only few that really know how to do programming.. so when a programmer talking about crypto, it's a real talk..

When I checked out the website I just got the impression "We're academics, so trust us". I'm convinced PoS is just a way of looking after the status quo / Whales. Also I refute that physically smaller payouts with PoW implies smaller payouts and less incentive of a 51% attack..because I've actually looked at the data and made a graph that proved otherwise: not gonna happen. The beauty of PoW is that yes it is a "waste" to use our computers and electricity for the purposes of mining, but this is what GIVES or "underwrites" the token's exchange value. If miners should want to sell at a slight profit that that is. The second problem is that "democracy is the least-worst form of governance" and in my opinion overrated ESPECIALLY when it's One Vote per Token not One vote per Person - that's a backwards step surely. I still think there is a better governance system out there to be discovered and created in Crypto.

He's obviously trying to promote this because he's not just talking about how it works. He makes a big point of covering how it's better than other cryptos, and then he repeatedly covers the creators in a very complimentary way. I'm already 3/4 of the way through and he hasn't even told me how it really works yet.

Don't know much about Blockchains, so this maybe a really stupid question. But Siraj, how does cryptocurrency gateways handle identifying transactions or invoicing? For example if I want to accept a payment for a service, and I send an invoice to the client, can the client submit the invoice number along with the payment? Or is the identification handled by a third party (gateway provider/exchange)? How is the process different between all the different variations of the blockchain (Miota/Cardano/Monero/etc etc)?
@luck39497 жыл бұрын
Marsh Ravenglass You can add comments to transactions. You also can generate new wallet for every transaction (but this seems not very practical since comissions became high)
@WHSajid7 жыл бұрын
Is this possible on the Ethereum Blockchain as well? And if the client forgets to include the invoice number, can the transaction be rejected on my end? Or do I have to manually return the payment? This would mean a second transaction though. Is there a better (or standard) way to handle this via Smart Contracts?

I don't understand why it has such a high market cap without even having a fully developed product or at least somewhat close to a fully working product as advertised
@clublati7 жыл бұрын
Well, a lot of people understand its potential and that's why they back it. The high market cap is due to the total pre-mined number of coins. I personally have more faith in this team than in most of the other blockchains - the scientific approach they've taken to develop this particular blockchain will pay off, these are pros taking their time to do things properly. They're not just some developers cloning or forking an existing blockchain.

He said in the video that Banks and Institutions handle KYC very well. Cardano seems focused on compliance integration to allow for traditional finance to leak into the market. Could be interesting to mainstream adopters, but not interesting to the innovators who agree that anonymity is key. The market doesn't care about KYC or governmental entities. Ethereum will remain triumphant so long as they can scale in a timely fashion so that Dapps can have space on the blockchain to operate.

Can transactions be reverted (through voting, a centralized entity or whatever)? If not, that's another "coin" that will only serve to speculative purposes. Unfortunately, a cryptocurrency won't start being largely used for buying/selling goods (like fiat currencies) unless its users have their "money" protected somehow. Until now, I find didn't a single project trying to address that problem.

I respect Siraj a lot but I disagree with the idea that sustainability is a problem. Think about it. Many project raised huge amount of money because investors believe that the team will be able to figure out the way to make system sustainable or even profitable. I think this is team's responsibility to make system sustainable. And I also think if blockchain project need continuous money to be sustainable, there is something terribly wrong. They must be sustainable by design.
