CQB in the future could be done with small robotic units or drones. With the technology we have today to keep people safe, we should really be exploring this. Room clearing is such a dangerous proposition. The likelihood of those attempting to clear a room of getting shot is extremely high.

I think a big part of the social problem is how a lot of people want to defend themselves and the community but there are too many laws that squash the individual’s ability to feel comfortable doing so (in many states). It’s basically like you’re not allowed to protect yourself (or others) without fear of being the one who ends up being punished. I personally think that also leads to an anxious society. Everyone should be encouraged to be a self-defender and protector of the peace if they so choose. There should be easier access to proper firearm training in more areas and it certainly shouldn’t be vilified.

Have to say it seems far far smarter to use a head nod to sync entry than people raising their rifles although I guess the momentum of the raised rifles then falling down does smoothly glide into place for use as they enter? Thinking out loud is all. The head nod has no disadvantage though it seems? Rifles up in the air though does create a moment of vulnerability but no clue if that ever translates or translated to a negative outcome.

We were taught to use SUL so we didn’t flag our team mate as we crossed paths in a center fed room so we didn’t flag out team mate for 17 years. They brought in some outside “spec ops” instructors that came in and totally bitched us out for not using the “pistol pointed up towards the ceiling and our fist on our temple.” They said because SUL is outdated bullshit and going from your temple to firing position is much quicker. Any thoughts or comments on this anyone????

This clip specifically looks like they are running the course with practice rifles working on fluidity and speed of movement instead of taking out targets so probably no need for ear protection. In general yes always have some for of ear protection.
