@estherkonadu6166 As a university city, Jena is home to students from around the world, including Africans. An African restaurant may not be the right term since that's a whole continent. I guess there's an Ethiopian restaurant somewhere.

Great Video and content. I am bit worried regarding accommodation as I have booked and apparently they take long time and slot students in later on. Are there any other service I can use to be certain of my accomodation.

Hello Kazuma, your comment is incomplete but I think I understand what you mean. Once you have booked an accommodation using the Studierendenwerk website, you only need to look out for their random emails requesting you to confirm if you still have interest in the accommodation. Once you booked early enough and confirm those random emails, you should get a room. Alternatively, you can use apps like WG-GESUCHT, etc to search for shared flats in Jena. All the best!

Hey. Normally, when you apply for a visa, the embassy considers your enrollment date while processing your visa. So, it's strange that you are getting a visa in the a future date and you even know the exact date. I suggest you write an email to the Ecology Evolution Course Cordinator explaining your situation. It may be necessary to send send every document that proves your visa delay. I wish you the best.

Hi. I think it's the admissions committee that's in the position to know a mode of instruction (MOI) is accepted instead of proficiency test results. I believe you will get admitted if you meet the entry requirements. All the best

Hi I'm really confused. I'm a gold medalist in BSc. MICROBIOLOGY and I applied in University of Jena for the English taught programme in Masters in Microbiology. However, I got rejected. My ielts score was 7 and I had learnt German till B1 but did not give the exam as the university did not require it. I do not understand what might be the reason for my rejection. I'm planning to apply next semester and I'll work on what I was lacking initially. But I don't know what might be the reason. Can you please guide me ?

Hi Xoxo. I am so sorry to learn you were rejected. I think you can appeal the decision. But before that you have to make sure you meet all the requirements, especially the bachelors grade minimum requirement of "Good" according to the German system. In this link (www.bio.uni-jena.de/biophamedia/studium/studiendokumente/master-microbiology/studord-engl-2018.pdf), you will find the Study Regulations for the Microbiology program. Read it thoroughly and access whether you met the admissions requirement or not. If you do, then appeal it back making reference to the Study Regulation and they will reverse the admission decision.
