How does it feel to have Hasselblad X2D and 55V as Medium Format Travel Kit (compared to Leica M11)

Bought an M11 last week, as i'm mainly shooting on my GFX system. Now i want to switch on XCD lenses :D

@@Monochromatic77 so true. That is one thing Hasselblad definitely wins here. But m11 is no slouch either if you’re willing to do some post.

As M11 user I also had an interest to X2D. But I changed my mind couple of days ago. Because I understood Hasselblad will not so inspire me for a long time as Leica do. Leica - it's a photography by itself

@@RecluseNotes yes I enjoy the process of taking photos with the Leica a lot more. Taking photos with X2D is very much like using a big smartphone.

I concur with the post process.. i have been converting through the phocus software before importing to LR, while nowadays i have been solely using my ipad hence i imported straight to the LR with camera standard color profile and i find it quite close, and eliminating the need to convert first, i think im fine with it

I switched from M11 to X2D. I really like M cameras but I felt that I just wasn’t happy with the consistency especially with colour. The ibis in the Hasselblad is amazing too. For me, it was really the colour though. The images have something I’ve not seen in any other system. I can’t even say what, but whatever it is it’s real. The innermost ring on the XCD 55 can be used as an aperture ring by the way, which is how I use it. Lovely photos of Japan. Great place to take a camera.

Since Leica went CMOS there is sadly no consistent colour reproduction anymore. They are still trying to figure it out like all other manufacturers. The last consistent M cameras are the M8 and M9 series.

@@Funktrainer very true, color has been drastically different among m240/ m10/11 generations.

@@Funktrainer I agree. I found with the M11, I would get maybe 1 in 20 images that I looked at and thought 'Wow!' and the rest just "meh'. The other issue is that an M is severely restricted by the fact that it must remain an M in physical size and appearance and there is a limit to what you can fit in. The M11 had endless issues on launch and for many users, still does. The X2D was designed from a blank slate without pre-ordained ideas about size and shape. It really shows when you use it.

The X2D is the most uninspiring camera I have used, its a simple point and shoot camera, too easy auto everything, anti shake, it doesn’t involve you its just a happy snap camera, the lenses are nowhere near Leica quality or sharpness, give me an M11 or my M6 any day!

I bought this Hasselblad kit two months ago and have now sold it It didn't live up to my expectations on many counts. but most importantly, it's not fun to shoot with. It's just a tool for boring work
