You created a wonderful model there. I like the color scheme and the cantilever shocks and everything is so harmonious. The only thing that bothers me are the amber colors, rear side markers. .I have a HG P407 myself and for lack of two red 3mm LEDs I had to use the amber-colored ones, because the kit I use only includes four amber LEDs as side markers. .you are doing a great job and I like to look over your shoulders. Agree, leaf springs all the way. Brilliant job with the upgrades. You nailed the wooden steps 2.37 ~2.52... Excellent driving. I remember this Hi-Lux being built to the production Line that i looked after in the early '80's, in Durban South Africa. The best 4x4 for its price.

You could get a fanny pack, or some people call it a hip pouch to keep a few tools on your person and that way you won't have to go back to the pit. You can have a few of the most common tools in a very small bag that is only on your hip and won't make you hot in the heat, especially if you are in a endurance competition, or are out on the trail. Great build.

Hey, I got a solution for the problem of seeing through the wheel wheel wells. To fix it, I manufactured a wheel well cover with aluminum sheet in a truck I built, and hardened it with epoxy hardener to help strengthen it and help stave off rust and, sprayed it flat black, then attached it to the body with strong loop and hook straps, a really strong one and it worked perfectly.

I love the scale 5 gallon bucket. I'm a nitro buggy or truggy type myself, I love the scream and the speed. But I've always thought Axial makes some real cool stuff. Your Toyota pickup is vary cool.Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I can't wait for you next video.

RC Gril nice driving. And with the setup you have on the backend of your Toyota and being able to see straight through from wheel to wheel' I it was me I would cut off the hole floor of the bed and drop it right down to the frame and then make new bed walls. This way you can't see through and under the truck bed because this mod gives you a true full drop bedand that is going to be all the more scale and then later on if you cut out your tailgate to make it open and close now your bed floor is flush the tailgate when it is down. Your Toyota looks very well done and given better outside. Love the video.

Thank you for a nice video as always! Even if the leaf spring mean less articulation, I think the super scale trail truck owner will not care so much about it, super scale trail trucking are not about reaching a finishing line first, "the journey is the goal", and they will just select a trail that the truck can handle. It made the truck look good and I am sure they are durable, nice choice. About the inner fenders, you can mould them yourself, using plastic from emty plastic bottles for instance. Make a mould from wood or clay, place the plastic sheet on it heating it with hot air gun, and forming it with your hands using gloves. You can fasten the innerfender to the body or the chassis, whatever is most practical of look the best, and after painting it will add much to a scale look and keep much of the dirt away from the interior. Good luck if you want to give it a try. Here are a few videos to get you started: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gauZmZJppLejjck , kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3mniaKtq9p5h9E . Cheers.

RC4WD has beadlock wheels that will move your tires in so it will be a class 1. And G Made has a set they do the same thing and they are heavy so they will help it to be more planted as well.

I wouldn't worry about hiding the frame rails in the rear of the truck. As for tire coverage, just make some fender flairs. It is a good looking truck and though a bit stiff does seem to handle well.

Good job on your conversion, it looks very realistic. And you crawl very well :) What I'd like to see though, which I've not seen much of because obviously you don't use it while crawling, is sway-bars / anti-roll bars. You know trucks aren't only for crawling, there are beach races and open road races where 4x4 vehicles go pretty fast, like in the movie The Goonies (from 1984) where you can see this annual beach truck race at the beginning of the film. I'd really like to see you drive your 4x4 vehicles not only crawling in heavy terrain, but also experiment some on gravel roads at a little more speed, like turning on gravel, perhaps taking smaller jumps, things that challenge the stability and maneuverability of the car.

Use Oleo Tubs or Cool Whip Tubs, some sort of Plastic bowl (Tupperware perhaps). Find ones that are the radius of the well wells, and cut and mod them to fit. add paint or truck bed liner and roll.

Hi. Im the one who said you’re “cutest gal in RC.” Lol. But I’d advise 3-d print or do a press/stamped plate metal for your stuff to cover under your bed & inner fenders . So “Look on Harley designs” last KZbin vid ,it has a section in it about all these solutions that might fit your needs. And look up “push rod 3-d” & “Make it RC (company names fir 3-d printed stuff ) for your interior & other accessories . They both have really kool stuff.Hope this helps 😉. Again. Nice job. Tyrs are perfect.
@Chon-c4 жыл бұрын
Btw. In the Harley designs vid. ? The are a ready made cad download you can get where you ,or a friend, can 3-d print those fender well cover ups. The rear should be the simplest just by printing something black ,that’s flat .

Love the color! Let me ask now it’s all said and done and the amount of work and money you’ve put into it... looking back would you have rather gotten the RC4WD kit and built a new rig or would you convert a scx10 again?
@tomlucasrccrawlers91084 жыл бұрын
Good question. Why take a 4-linked rig and leaf it? You're literally going backwards in performance and technology. Why take an RC4WD TF2 rig a 4-link it?....if you're going to do that...why not just buy a "plastic" rig that's linked already. Really...the best answer is it just a hobby , right?! Have fun.

So, the undercarriage of your truck is what is left of the old SCX10, right? The axles, transmission and all. I just, mostly, finished an RC4WD TF2, and just took it out for its initial run, first truck with leaf springs. Pretty different, but the truck is very capable as well. I like it a lot. Great video, keep them coming along.
