Try out automotive paints from auto parts store. A little more than HD, but cheaper than RC shop. They lay better and go on thinner. Plus they have actual automotive colors.

Awesome video and awesome paint job!! Also quick thought, I’ve dropped many RC things down my sink in my bathroom when it falls down I turn the water off right away, and no matter the weight or size it stays at the bottom U pipe under the sink, I’ve recovered O rings. Shock rod ends, etc, if you have a way of unscrewing the U pipe under the sink I bet the door handle is sitting at the Bottom! 😅

Have you tried mog pog for clear plastic wind shields. I have heard people use it for wind shields on plastic vehicle models and it drys clear with no ghosting hazing or fading the clear plastic. You can pick it up at Walmart or any other craft stores. There are a few different types of mog pog so get the one that drys clear

Very nice work. I'm aware that this video is a couple of years old but I wanted to mention that (you probably already know this), I learned from another youtuber that he used "Super Cleaner" purple degreaser that you can purchase in automotive stores or Walmart, and it desovles the chrome from plastic parts. I tried it on the beadlock wheels from my Redcat Gen 8 and it works wonders! The chrome vanishes. Just a though. Rather than using that nasty Easy Off that can harm you in many ways.

To easily remove “chrome” from plastic parts use simple green. Soak for about 10 minutes and it falls right off and much less corrosive than oven cleaner. 👍

Sorry I forgot to mention mog pog is for glueing in the clear plastic wind shields. I’ve heard it works great and doesn’t haze ghost or fade the clear plastic. Just try a corner of a clear plastic sprue to another clear plastic sprue ( frame that holds the plastic wind shields on) to make sure it drys clear

When you clean the tip/cap on the paint can turn the can upside down and spray it until it comes our clear 👍 don't worry about wasting the propellant theres more in the can than you need to empty the paint and that way you can blow all the paint out of the cap. Also for a few bucks you can get caps that have a much wider and softer spray pattern, for hardware store cans with the nozzle that sticks out of the can into the cap like Rustoleum you want "female" caps, the best are "female fat caps" from ArtPrimo.com and they ship from San Francisco 👍 theres also male fat caps that work with the cans that have the "old" style valve with a post on the cap that fits in a hole in the top of the can, the will fit in a Tamiya can, DO NOT try it. The extra pressure from the larger orifice in the cap will make a Tamiya valve explode and volcano paint everywhere. 😂 theyre meant for European art/graffiti paint and most American hobby cans will pop if you try fat caps in them. The graffiti cans are also great, much higher pigment content, some are high pressure so no shaking, low VOCs for the trees, and dries instantly. However some of it goes on THICC if your not careful lol

You cannot. It's not as flexible and won't stick to lexan as well as the specific lexan paints. It would quickly flake off and make a mess. Stick with lexan paint for lexan 👍
