Lift station is to move sewage water from a lower level to a higher level to keep it flowing to its destination it consist of a large holding septic tank with no drainfield where the water collects and when it reaches a certain level a pump turns on and brings it up to a higher level where it flows (gravity fed) downhill again to a treatment plant.
