A very worthwhile video ... excellent content and delivery (but not surprised as I have seen a number of your other videos ... always well done). Question please: I have a small consulting business with less than a dozen clients (each with dozens of commercial real estate properties). For the past several months, I have been planning a move to the 'Cloud', via M-365 and mashing Excel, OneNote, P-BI, PowerPoint, Whiteboard and Word hosted on a SharePoint platform. No single client will even come close to exceeding the maximums of a M-365 Premium subscription. However, It strikes me as a 'cleaner' approach to obtain a separate license for each client (which I will pay for) as opposed to each client sharing my M-365 License, separated by 'permissions, of course. Would very much appreciate your thoughts. Thank you ...

There is a number of ways that you could do this. If you became a Microsoft partner, you could use a tool called Microsoft the Lighthouse to manage all of your client tenants. Just a thought but yes I agree with your idea. If it’s employees then a single tenant is absolutely fine but if they’re multiple separate customers I would go for a tenant each and you can then manage these independently or on behalf of your customers. Hi Andy wonderful video easy to understand for the first time user. Quick question in enterprise environment where third party employees just need an outlook and teams in the Citrix environment then which license is appropriate or enough for them? Second question people who have left the organization and their mailboxes are archived do we still need to assign a license to them to be compliant ?

Hey thanks for the question, I would probably go with an F plan. This used to be known as kiosk plans and are perfect for online users. And they’re very low cost an alternative is an enterprise E1 plan I . At least I think that’s what it’s called. It’s the plan that just has a mailbox. I hope this helps. How much storage do we have for Sharepoint? We know that we get 1TB for OneDrive, but I can't find the info on the collective storage for Sharepoint, especially if we start using storage hungry video content with Stream for example. Any comment on the subject, will help a great deal on making an educated decision on where to host the data to avoid running into limits. BTW, Great content Andy, thank you so much for sharing your incredible knowledge with us!

This is a difficult question to answer. Some features allow for just a single license and you can get away with it but others like security in compliance require a license for every user. So honestly, I don’t know you’d have to try. I use an E5 so I get everything. Good luck and thanks for subscribing 👍 🙂

Andy, in group-based licensing scenarios, what happens when a user receives the same license and different licenses by being part of two different groups ... how the overlapping works.

They both work but in my opinion this is poor planning. As in the end it will end up costing you more. So, careful planning with group managed licensing is important here.

Do you have a subscription copy of Microsoft office which needs to be activated. During the activation sequence, you will be asked to use your username and password to log into Microsoft 365. If you do not have a subscription you will be prompted to create one.

The good news is that you can sign up for a Microsoft 365 account and get free access for 30 days. Beyond that you could extend the trial to 60 days, but you would need to put in a credit card. However, he would not be billed. This is just for identification. Beyond that your trial would delete your tenant after 90 days. Take a look at M365maps.com as this will allow you to compare the various plans. Good luck and all the best, Andy

No, Windows 365 is what you want. But it has limitations. Personally I’d do a trial azure. Subscription and creat some VMs there. Just remember to turn them off at night so to not use up your credit.

There are multiple versions of Microsoft office. The traditional means of access is by entering a license key. However, nowadays, you would more likely require a subscription to Microsoft 365. If you’re interested, there is a free version of Microsoft 365 that you can sign up to and use the online apps. Although they are a little limited. I’m afraid that those are your options 😊
