Real world, 150 mile ev range, backup use a 4 cylinder diesel engine, this is what jeep folk want

lol 150mi ev range, just skip the hybrid part

Nice! The cool factor is definitely there for a diesel electric hybrid! That’s not typically done because both are more efficient for low rpm and high torque applications... But if there is any vehicle where that makes sense, it’s a Jeep!

I remember way back when GM did this for their trucks and Malibu's. Pretty sure no one cared and they didn't sell well. Once they get over 10 years old and the battery goes bad, it's basically totalled

I just bought the 4xe today and it’s great! It’s not listed in the manual, does anyone know how to turn on the regenerative breaking option?
@drivingca3 жыл бұрын
Hello, the process is typically automatic in that type of vehicle. Just release the gas pedal or touch the brakes and it kicks in automatically!
@skseth3 жыл бұрын
@@drivingca figured it out! It’s actually a button on the dash!
@matthewsfrawley2 жыл бұрын
@@sksethRegenerative breaking is standard on the Wrangler 4Xe. The button you are referring to is a "max regen mode." This mode will give the maximum amount of energy back to the battery! Any other questions?

This is the dumbest engineering I've seen in a while. They keep all the mechanical drivetrain and ADD electric motors, to the engine no less? Use 4 electric wheel motors. Delete the transmission, t-case, differentials and axles. Use the engine as a generator and transmit power to wheel motors by wire, electricity. This ables 100% power distribution to a single wheel (better than locking diffs), less drivetrain power losses, fewer components to pay for and to break.

Too bad Jeep didn't use "1,000,000 real world miles" in testing their new Uconnect5!

... I want to wait for the all Electric Jeep Wrangler Magento. This is kind of a Gimmick vehicle souped up to seem like a "Electric" SUV. 25 miles doesn't cut it.

I own a 2009 Wrangler. Total piece of junk that needs constant repairs. Horrible fuel economy and handling. Chrysler ruined the Jeep. I will never buy a Chrysler product again. Buyer beware.

The Ford Raptor I had was by far the biggest like of shit I ever had. That thing was nonstop back at the dealership until it was finally lemon-lawed. Besides the trans problems, the interior was utter cheap Fisher-Price junk.
