He did. Hiphop showed him massive love. When they had counted him out like most blaxploitation stars, hiphop revived him. That was love and Rudy loved it. Of course, he wanted more love from other stand up comedians. That's the name of the game. Rudy didn't have proper representation in terms of talent agents, writers/scouts. He never even had a distribution deal. Rudy was buying his own swat meat and creating his own merch. Everyone else failed him but he never failed himself. It don't get no better than that.

This sad reality was common among Black entertainers of Rudy's generation. Due recognition or compensation was never given to the people who blazed the trail for many modern household names. That's one reason I respect Snoop Dogg. He uses every opportunity to pay homage to the generation of performers who inspired his art and includes them in his music and videos so that THEY can get a check, too.

My introduction to the badass Rudy Ray Moore was back in the mid 80's...I was in the punk scene and a bunch of us were sitting around at a friend's house listening to music and this guy shows up, turns off the jams, tells us "you guys have to see this shit" and popped Dolemite into the VCR and we all lost our minds! Been a fan ever since, love all his films and even got to see him perform onstage in Royal Oak Michigan in the 90's... after his show he was in the lobby selling photos and odds and ends like random porno videotapes that he autographed (classic!) and when we tried to get him to sign our ticket stubs he insisted that we buy something first. We told him we were broke and he said (quote) "Man, you ain't buyin' shit then I ain't signin' shit!" Dissed by Dolemite live and in person, it definitely doesn't get any better than that! Rest In Power Rudy!

Great Interview! Foster Corder definitely is educating people on how capitalism works and how it affects Black artists, "National General Theatre" owner Ted Mann tried to get the film "The Blues Brothers" which became very successful with Black audiences to not be marketed to Black people initially due to him believing we Black people bring violence and chaos to white establishments and that "The Blues Brothers" would be considered a Black film which he said would make the film unsuccessful but keep in mind this racist comment is made only 5 years after "Cotton Comes To Harlem", "Shaft", "Superfly", "Black Caesar", "Sounder", "Coffey", "Let's Do It Again" was extremely successful with both Black and White audiences. Comedian Paul Mooney rightly states that racism trumps capitalism

jay L : For what you're calling dissing is what grown people call keeping it real , when people like a person they don't like hearing negative things about people they like , there's a million of these same stories of how selfish & egotistical some of our most beloved celebrities are , what they say in interviews is very different from their actions , how many stories have we seen & heard about how the lead singer of a popular up and coming group or even sometimes from well established groups where the lead singer some how out grows the rest of the group , then we find out later on all the bad things they've said or done to the other group members , and most of the time the other group members careers never recovers from it . If u really want to keep it real u would know that the manager was stating the truth , although I love Eddie his career was declining and Kevin Hart been in the number 1 Comedian top earner category for a few years now , just like the manager said Eddie should've done something with Rudy when his career was booming or when Mr Moore wanting to do something with him , now it seems Eddie used Rudy to come back out or for a cash grab

Eddie waited purposefully after Rudy died. See Eddie doesn’t have to pay anything to the Rudy or his estate. Which was nothing. Eddie waited until til Rudy’s supposed daughter died also. Eddie was greedy. Rudy died broke. I know the man who ended up buying a storage unit that contained Rudy’s items. Which was half just junk. But Rudy had hid it from the lady saying she was his daughter. Rudy still did appearances and kept his items for sale in the unit. Along with his clothes etc. I ended up with a large box full of Rudy’s items. Signed posters, clothes, towels, shoes, buttons, and photos. I am an old white farm boy who appreciates Rudy more than Eddie ever will.

@@FosterCorder exactly. Idk how he got any ounce of hate out of what you just said. Your interviews these past few days on dolomite and just your story in general has been so fascinating to me. I even looked up this interview you did I believe in the early 90s when you had your commercial business and they were showing the different commercials you had done. I would pay good money to hear your story. I have nothing but respect and admiration for you man. To me you are who our young black men and women should be looking up to. Its people like you who I look to for the real truth. Just like you told the truth on Eddie and how he treated dolomite when he was living. You weren't saying that as a knock towards eddie. You said it because it was the truth. Please let me know of any new projects that you're working on. I would definitely love to support in anyway that I can. I truly do hope you get your flowers while you're still living.

Timothy Fenner Yes that’s true so what? Not my loss it’s the public and story. Rudy’s story is still a great story. I didn’t have to be involved but I should because I have information nobody else has. But nothing I’m saying is anything but real history ✌🏾
@@FosterCorder I understand, but I think people like to see the story of him conquering his fears and creating his own brand of comedy and put it to film. This film was not to be a biography. Which I think from what I see in your interview it would make for an interesting expose of a great artist. By the way he passed away in my hometown of Akron. How did he end up in Akron at nursing home?
@FosterCorder5 жыл бұрын
Timothy Fenner but you can’t tell Ray Charles story and leave out he was blind and just show he was a musician 🤷🏾♂️. And the Akron situation is more involved then I have space for on this post. I’ll just say, after crossing the country for many many years, Rudy knew people in all the major cities he could count on for different needs. He got sick while touring that area.

ShonContra Shon you’re the hater? Eddie doesn’t have to work with me fool. It’s in his best interest. I own this story regardless. So I’m sorry for whatever isn’t going well in your life.😢 But, when you come down off that black hate yada yada, check Mr. Moore’s own words and become educated kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2THq5iZl5eLfc0

Foster Corder listen old man, you’re the fool getting on this platform talking shit abt Eddie. He said he DID ask Dolemite to do a movie and he said NO. Perhaps you didn’t know abt that convo but to sit up here talking doing the same thing Mooney’s son’s did when Pryor’s old body guard spoke on a private convo they had is corny as hell. As far as a sequel, NOBODY cares to see a sequel of the movie Eddie just did. It’s not that kind of movie to do a fucking sequel to you old delusional fool. Ur obviously out here broke and looking for a money grab. You wouldn’t even be relevant if not for Eddie doing this movie. Nobody’s checking for Dolemite content like that in 2019. The only reason I even know abt him is due to Ghostface Killah putting his stuff in skits on his Ironman album. Go sit your old ass down somewhere. Eddie doesn’t have to do shit with you. He’s SUPER RICH so ain’t shit “in his best interest”. Get your hater ass off this channel. Fake friend. Dolemite never came out so what gives you the right to come out and say he was officially gay? Piece of shit.
