Well, this is a TV series where viewers expect the visual representation to look similar and match the audio - but he looks absolutely nothing like Charles to the point that it nearly messes up the series. I rolled my eyes every time he came on screen alongside Diana and would often break into laughter. He should've been cast as Diana's boyfriend AFTER the marriage. Any man can mumble in a British accent and walk around adjusting their tie every 5 minutes.

Claire Foy looks nothing like the late Queen Elizabeth, and yet, it didn't matter and it never did because it's not the resemblance that counts but the acting and she did it amazing just like Olivia and Imelda. Josh O'Connor looks NOTHING like Charles either, but I've never heard anyone complain about that, or Helena who doesn't look like Princess Margaret either. It's stupid to complain about that, because since the first season it's something that the crown has already accustomed us to because they obviously want us to focus on the performances, not on the physique of the actors. You don't know anything about this series if you think getting actors who look like the royal family is a priority for them.

During the lockdown, I checked out The Wire. I had been meaning to watch it, not just because I'd heard what a great show it was, but also because I'm a huge Idris and MBJ fan. However, I unexpectedly found myself falling in love with Dominic's work as well. He was phenomenal, so I'm delighted to know that he will be stepping into this role. I believe that he will do a brilliant job, and I can't wait to watch it.

I think we can safely say both parties were cruel to each other. Divorce is messy. The marriage shouldn’t have happened and he was pressured into it. How well would you behave if you were forced to marry someone you never loved? I think it’s ridiculous that people still get so worked up about this and can’t see that all parties in this tragedy were victims, and all parties acted badly in the situation they were forced to endure.

To put it directly, if the crew is competent enough, the image of the king and queen will not be affected at all. At least with the king, the public has had a long enough time to get to know him, and he has enjoyed a lot of time to show his preferences. He needs to remain generous and we can choose to maintain tolerance. That's one of our most fundamental differences.

With each take they do Catherine's character suddenly does a spontaneous impression of the comedian Frankie Howerd which she claims she doesn't even know she is actually doing it, even though it extremely obvious LOL!

He (in his 30s) was greedy for the crown and made Diana (little more than a teenager) a scapegoat with no intention of honouring the marriage with his “Do you seriously expect me to be the first Prince of Wales in history not to have a mistress?”. He was a full grown adult given the best education and training possible, and is fully responsible for his decisions. He also emotionally abused and gaslighted Diana, which is a criminal offence in the U.K but of course, ‘Prince’ Charles’ll never have to pay for that.

@@ElvenSkywalker he was never ‘greedy’ for the crown, it was his birthright. He had real love for his mother and wasn’t anxiously awaiting her death so he could become king. As for Diana, yes, he was pressured into finding the perfect little wife by the firm. He was denied the woman he really wanted but at some point he ‘had’ to marry someone to have children and secure the succession, and if it couldn’t be Camilla, he was never going to be in love with whomever he married. He literally had no choice but to marry someone, unfortunately it just happened to be her, and she was someone who was completely incompatible with him. She was emotionally needy and could never be a good support to him, because he was also emotionally needy because of how cold his upbringing was. The mistake was that they should have taken more time to get to know each other before the engagement. Maybe in time he would have seen she was a terrible choice for him.

Terrible casting. He shifts from the character at the end of the 4th season - intense, angry, conflicted, raw - a powerful performance. Then we get this meh - nice guy, grins and nods a lot as he tugs at his sleeves or puts his hands in his pockets. Poor put-upon wimpy Charles! There is no emotional continuity from what was built before. It goes beyond the looks not matching; the heart and depth of the character and his conflict are not there. BTW, same problem with Imelda Staunton as Elizabeth. She plays her like an old lady, out of power, a blank with no discernible inner life. The thing about Olivia Coleman and before her, Claire Foy was that even when they weren't speaking, they were reacting and we could see the emotional turmoil in their eyes and the tension of their body language. Imelda just sits there. Blank. Such a set of disappointments!
