Why would Mattingly be with McGriff, in 89, in Tampa, at a HS, taking BP, during spring training? Problems: 1. 1989 teams: Mattingly - Yankees McGriff - Blue Jays 2. Spring Training locations 1989: Mattingly - Yankees.....Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 1962-1995 East Coast of Florida McGriff - Blue Jays.....Dunedin, FL 1977- present Tampa area, West Coast of Florida 3. Driving Distance from Ft. Lauderdale to Dunedin, FL - 270 miles. So, why would Don Mattingly, a Yankee, drive 270 miles 1 way to take BP, with McGriff, a Blue Jay, alone together, at a High School?

Bert tells a story like Swiss cheese: full of holes. High school students running "player appreciations?" What the hell is that? I highly doubt pro ball players went to a high school to do batting practice. He makes no sense, but I guess that's how he makes his living.
