What I appreciate about Kendrick Lamar is the true respect he has to his own artwork. You have to understand how impressive it is for me to see a modern artist say they are "The Elohim, KTW," and actually follow through on that. I took English Lit from a professor so well versed, he could combine literature, and all the other philosophy adjacent fields into a joint discussion on human will, drive and canvas of inspiration. Now he hated all loud music but this dude had a paper copy of "Kendrick Lamar's Prose." Lord Harris was a man who refused payment from Trinity college for failing students on financial woes, after admitting them through a entrance exam. He would say that Kendrick was the making of a modern day Homer. Long before he got super famous even. This man's integrity was so steadfast, he was only of the only people allowed free movement through Mao's China, Russia the USA, amidst the peak cold war era. ☠ Even the thought of claiming he was glazing has me looking over my shoulder and the man is dead. That would be accusing the man who only values academia of dishonesty. Literal flawless record record on getting your entire publications and degrees stripped the man had. I love some of Drake's hits too but his pen is nowhere near the same level by multiple magnitudes honestly. You can see Kendrick is doing it for the sake of the art when you realize how 6:16 in LA has the same heart beat as Old Norse war ballads. It's like watching Van Gogh lost in painting Starry Night while some dude thinks the competition is about who can chop their own ear off nicer lol

Not Like Us is a great record, but its not even close to Euphoria. That track is amazing. And like you said, the fact most people weren't giving Kendrick props until Not Like Us says everything you need to know about the current hip hop media. AK can have funny segments here or there, but he is horrible for the culture overall. He is like Drake in the sense that he also didn't grow up in the culture, adopted it later, found the ways to exploit it, all while changing his own accent to blend in. So it makes sense why he goes so hard defending him. Especially when AK has a questionable history talking about underage girls, and also with how toxic his relationships are, while being a grown ah man pushing 40, like Drake. But Cam'Ron and Mase were extremely disappointing throughout this. I grew up on Dipset, and always held Cam to a high regard, but I would be lying if I didn't say this didn't make me view him a bit differently. lol Mal has always been a lame, so I wasn't too shocked about him, though it was legit embarrassing to seem him emotionally crumble for Drake like he did. The crash outs we got from this beef were wild. EDIT - I do have to add though, I did find A BUNCH of new people on KZbin who cover hip hop throughout this beef. Young people who really do be caring about the culture, and really take it seriously. Will they ever get as big as AK? Probably not. Like Drake, AK has a young fanbase and until the get older or grow up, they will stick with them. But if you are older like me, and really want some great hip hop content, there are dozens of great people to check out, that I would have never knew existed if it wasn't for this beef. I am tired of people who exploit the culture, with no actual attachment to it, being at the top.

Drake had the power over the industry because he had a huge fanbase, is chronically online and probably was DMs those people in media pretending to be buddy with them. They wanted him to win because Drake is the media guy, talk to influencers, podcasters and use his fame to have power over them. All that make what Kendrick did even more impressive. He was flghting the industry, the big machine that feeds Drake to the públic. He faced them and embarassed their favorite to the whole world. His name is already between the legends and he isn't even done, he has just 5 albuns.

I like how BBL Drizzy glazers are complaining about Kendrick fans being everywhere talking shit when it was their savior who started all the trolling.

THEY NOT LIKE US!! AK was literally in shambles listening to Kendrick's disses live though. I look at his reactions to the disses on KZbin for a good laughs

Dee what you have to understand is that these dudes, alot of them want to be Drake. They want his lifestyle. They want his success. Or some of them want to be next to Drake. So of course they were downing Euphoria. Even the people who were not super impressed by Euphoria thought it was better than Push Ups. So these guys in particular reactions to Euphoria and saying Push Ups was better wasn’t that shocking to me. But a month later, look at what the songs that are aging the best are. Not Like Us, Euphoria, and Like That.

Euphoria on first listen felt like when you wash the dishes, cook some food, sit down to finally eat it and when your plate's empty, you recline on your seat and heavily exhale from satisfaction

They didn’t want to give Kendrick credit for nothing and when they did it looked like it hurt. They like Drake more and not Kendrick bc they have more of an ability to use Drake for an opportunity than Kendrick.

Krispy Kremes reported a glaze shortage after the performance of Ak, Mal, Gillie, and Ish from the JBP during this beef Also too many of these media dudes that are 40 or above just wanted to shake their ass more than women on the pole because it's almost like especially East Coast media was hatin on "Euphoria" while the fans and views/downloads got many people thinking it was the song of the beef

The cops from Mal and Ak was 🤢🤮. Completely disappointed in the hypocrisy from Cam and his inability to hear that Euphoria was a much better song than Push Ups on first listen.

The restaurant comparison works. You got a 5 star restaurant with high-quality food. It feels exclusive and you don't eat there all the time, but when you do, it's an amazing memorable experience, vs. this McDonald's type place that's on every corner, people consume it because it's everywhere but it ain't good for you.
