How is Dream beating the KZbin algorithm? Want to know the truth? Let’s find out…
Dream may have lost to Technoblade but he’s still the biggest winner when it comes to growing on KZbin. Right now, he’s the fastest growing channel in the world. Want to learn how to grow a gaming channel?

At the start of Last year, Dream was pretty much an unknown Minecraft youtuber. Flash forward a year and a half and Dream has become one of the fastest growing KZbin channels in history. In the last 30 days, he’s grown by 2.7 million subscribers. Those are Mr Beast level numbers. He’s also considered one of the best Minecraft Players in the world, alongside technoblade.
You could make amazing videos but if your channel doesn’t have reach, it’s easy to be lost in the crowd…Dream needed a way to get his name out there and build a following and that’s when he discovered factor number 1, the Trend-jacking growth strategy.
Dream had a huge wave of views and new subscribers coming in, but at this point 99% of people still never fully capitalize, Dream didn’t only capitalize on it, he pretty much beat KZbin, which bring us on to factor number 2, creating an algorithm beater.
So The growth trajectory dream had experienced was pretty interesting up until this point, but it was actually after this that most of his growth happened. Which brings us on to factor #3 - Doubling down and incrementally improving. It’s been 8 months since the Mine-craft manhunt series began but they have made up pretty much half of his videos in that period. He’s a speedrunner!
My name is Paddy Galloway and I hope you enjoyed this video!
#Dream

People also miss out the fact there aren't really any chill, feels good minecraft channel like there was 7 years ago. There's two sides, players that have grown and are maybe too chill and not fun anymore, and the much young oriented, screaming and super fast channels. Dream is just a dude having fun with friends, and I think this brandless image of a dude playing with his buds has a part of responsibility in his success.

Dream has also said before that when studying KZbin he didn't just look at Minecraft but studied every topic. His dynamic with his friends also adds to his growing success cause a common theme with the best KZbin channels is the great friendships between the creators in the videos. People tend to project themselves and their wants into videos and stuff so seeing other people with such real friendships make the videos more enjoyable to watch.

I have accidently performed a "trend jack" on my own channel a few months ago when the manhunt series has just started out actually! I noticed things that Dream and his friend George could improve on in their videos and made a tips for manhunt video, as minecraft on my channel at that time, it did poorly at first, but with time it started picking up speed and is now growing faster and faster! I followed it up with part two a few months later, and not too long ago after watching your video about Mark Rober I used your tips to make a 3rd video as good as possible, and now it's already performing much better than the other 2 and is also growing exponentially! :D I've also kind of intentionally trend jacked when a game called Scrap Mechanic released it's biggest update ever (but my channel has been based on this game since 2017) and it let me grow my channel from a bit over 300 subs to over 800, but then the game died down again so now I am converting my audience to Minecraft as I can make much better videos which can perform OKAY or great and the growth after a temporary stall has continued again and by the looks of things I'll be hitting my first thousands subscribers sometime next week :D Thank you so much for your videos, they really help a lot! :)

I think another thing that’s interesting about dream is that not only does he have fans, but he has a whole fandom. He trend jacked until he had a fan base that not only likes his content but wants to know more about him. Anyone who is friends with him or in his smp automatically get a massive subscriber/fan base boost, just by including him I. There videos. There is countless memes fan art and generally fan accounts about the dream team that it’s becoming a way of almost free advertising just through fans. I don’t know if this was intentional or he just got lucky but either way, his fan base boosts him and his fiends a lot.

Summary Dream could survive in a very saturated niche. 1. Trend-Jacking: Use key words that indicate trending topics. Make your videos related to those topics. 1-1. Find a topic from other social media and attract them to your KZbin video that talks about that specific topic. (Multi Media, One Direction) 3. Original Ideas *added to* the trending topics 4. Make videos that are preferred by the Algorithm. 4-1. KZbin algorithm considers both Retention (% of a video watched by one viewer) and Watch time (# of minutes watched per viewer) Dream achieved both by creating videos as if they are movies. Lots of tension and uncertainty, but satisfaction at the end. 5. Same series with improvement = outdated yet more interesting

You must study KZbin tirelessly for months (or maybe years) before you start it. It requires a lot of hard work and determination. This is my message to those people who think that KZbin is just a joke and it depends on luck and has nothing to do with hard work.
@KentVigilante
@KentVigilante 4 жыл бұрын
PewDiePie never studied the KZbin algorithm neither did other KZbinrs like KSI, Logan Paul, Markiplier and so on Pewds agrees luck is a big part of it he said so himself and I think that counts for a lot considering he has 106 million subscribers, he dominated the KZbin algorithm many times unintentionally he got 6.5 mil subs in December 2018.

@@gus9351 They both have good points but aren't completely accurate. KZbin is ruthless to new content creators nowadays and that's why you have to study it however that doesn't mean you can't be successful if you don't have the big brain IQ like Dream. Hard work still pays off but without a plan it takes way longer. I think it's still fine that way because the reason PewDiePie got successful even now is because once you get the big numbers and ad revenue, it all becomes irrelevant. In the end every content creator is just human so if you make videos you enjoy making/would watch it yourself, you'll get that foundation eventually. The fans will stay and watch so long as they keep making videos. That's still success in my book!

@kingthormak5821
@kingthormak5821 4 жыл бұрын
I think the key to Dream's success is him making people want to like his videos. I was there when it was happening. When he first did 1 vs 3 manhunt, he said in the end that they'll do another one if this one hits 250.000 likes. It did. Then he set up a bar on 300.000 likes for another rematch. And he got it again. But the biggest gamechanger was when he said He'll do another one for 1 MIO likes. It took some time and people were using all accounts they owned on youtube to get the video to the mark because they wanted to get more, and, one thing leads to the other: he hit the mark again. With every manhunt video, he was then just raising the bar higher and higher, but never so high it couldn't be reached. And that was when he absolutely blew up. Since then he is getting almost 1 MIO subs every week. And he's getting 1 MIO likes like it's nothing. Also, his videos are just amazing, so that helps too.

Yeah honestly, I feel like learning from someone I can actually feel a small relationship to Dream. Not having momentum whatsoever but despite all else, I still produce more videos regardless of the views. It can be discouraging for me, yeah but I'm always trying things learning new things meeting interesting people, and even watching interesting people. I think what really keeps my hope going is the fact that regardless of where I land on youtube I'd like to one day make a video where people can enjoy it fairly well and it's a scary world like getting negative and positive comments it just never stopped me from making more. People like Dream really do show inspiration and motivation to not give up if KZbin is something you're really wanting to take up one day. I think now is pretty much the time for me to start taking those steps in learning and growing.

Eh, Nord isn’t actually that good as far as reputation goes. Couple times now they’ve had data breaches and just told nobody in hopes it wouldn’t get out. Nah, if you want a good VPN you go with one that has 3rd party auditing for no logs with dedicated servers. I use VyprVPN for that reason, they own all of their own server/network infrastructure and are based in Sweden so there’s no legality stopping them, third party audit, too.
