I was on board with this video until you massively overanalyzed the thumb, saying how someone would see the parachuter in the thumbnail and wonder "will he land?" I would guess that a solid 0% of viewers noticed(or cared about) the parachuter in the thumb when they first clicked the video

This might just be my dumb opinion but I feel like the obsession with retention might actually hurt the content. Forcing something epic to happen every 5 seconds makes it hard to care about any of the contestants in the video. There's no time to pause and learn about anyone taking part

4:10 he literally has 4-8k cameras as can be seen in the video you got the clip of the 1080p from but he just doesnt upload in the quality. The advantage of 4-8k is still higher zoom potential while staying at 1080p.
