I'll be honest. I'm not excited at all. But I appreciate that they are trying new things. Id just like if they released more of the regions more than anything. Glad galar starters are available now. Do more of that. More hisui, hoein. There's a million more that can released. Instead of recycling the same community days or raid bosses. We don't need 8 months out of the year of legendary beats. And then one day of a non apex Lugia. Sorry for the rant.

The feature will probably improve with time - it's a massive new system, bigger even than megas, and they were pretty rubbish to begin with. Also there aren't actually that many more pokemon left to add - around 175. If they add them at the rate of this event (12 new pokemon in 1 week) then we would run out of pokemon to add in early december, and would have to wait until the next main series game.

Well I agree but there honestly is not that much stuff left to come out. There is one line of mons left from kalos, 10 or so mons from alola, and then just Galar and paldea. They really only have 2 gens of mon left to pull from, so while I think it’s annoying to recycle, this type of feature is the only thing I think could add real, continued longevity - since they are running towards the end of Pokémon to draw from until the next gen comes out. And because mainline players are clamoring for game freak to take longer periods of time between releases (rightfully so I think) it may be a while until the subsequent fully fledged generations come out

I had kinda hoped there would be some kind of effect for dynamax outside of battle - I'd imagined some sort of adventure effect, giving boosts to the spawn rates of pokemon that are the same type as the dynamaxed mon, or something along those lines.

Yeah it doesn't seem like there is much reason to interact with these mechanics outside of raiding in these in person only raids There's not much incentive with only one shint to hunt currently, only time will tell if this raiding system will be worth anything

Why isnt anyone complaining about how this is basically just a separate game witin pokemon go with its own duplicate pokemon to collect that have no interaction with the rest of the game ... Its just more shit we have to hoard with no point. like you cant even use these max mons in any other aspects of the game, no bonuses they give you in regilar raids or pvp etc, no asthetic changes really that you can flex in any way, its just more buisy work for the sake of getting more dynamax mons, and thats it. We already have all the gens, the shinies, the shadows, hundos, costumes, nundos, buddy badges, megas, XXS and XXLs we need to collect... Why the fuck do we need a giant versions of basic mons that just have red clouds over their heads. And that are useless everywhere else in the game except in 1 feature. So .. WHATS THE POINT???

I’m curious what they’re hoping to accomplish with this game mechanic - it’s so fractured from the current PVE experience that I’m having a hard time visualizing it’s long term impact, unlike Mega evolutions which were immediately obvious and incredibly useful. That said, I’m Glad to have something new, and I’m glad it doesn’t use raid passes. If we’re going to get enough MP to get started, I’ll casually participate. When my kids and I still play SwSh, it’s almost always focused on dynamax dens, so it’s hard to be upset that it’s in PoGo!

New Max battle research is called 'To the Max' & is 3 pages: First page: 1- collect MP from 3 power spots (30 pokeballs). 2- Explore 5km (20 great balls). 3- Collect 500 Max particles (10 ultra balls). Rewards = encounter (assuming this is the Mb eligible Pokémon) & 8000 XP. Will hopefully get to page 2 when we go out for raid hour in a couple of hours as can't see any power spots from the house.

Update- Nearby menu gets an upgrade & includes power spots along with pokemon, raid & route. The Power stops have timers on them (which shows in the nearby menu). The ones around me are a mix of 5am tomorrow, 1Day & 2 Days. Pays to do these on foot as walking/going slow enough to count steps properly earns 300 MP per 2Km. You can only collect from them once daily- the ones I did tonight gave 120 MP each- so you need to collect from 6 power stops & walk 2Km to get the 1000MP. Encounter was in Dmax format, my great ball turned into a DMax ball to catch the Wooloo. No mistaking DMax pokemon- they have an almost neon pink, large, stylised X behind them in storage & can be searched using @dynamax. Page 2 of the research: Collect MP from 10 Power Spots = 100 MP (they seem to be a random mix of things like basketball courts, signs & shops like supermarkets- was weird as I had to go some home run businesses since they were also power stops). Collect 1000 Max Particles = 2x golden razzberry Level 1 Max Moves = 5x rare candy. End of page Reward = Encounter & 8000 XP.

I really hope we can allow our old Pokemon to G-Max at some point. I was working on some G-Max Kanto Pokemon for the past few years in case this was implemented, and it turns out I was right, but I'm unsure how they're going to go about implementing the mechanics. My biggest fear is having to catch new shinies of Pokemon I already lucky traded for in order to G-Max them in raids. They've done things like that before, but it luckily worked out when they did Mega Pokemon.

This is a bit ridiculous simply because XL candy still isn’t as easy to get, while this season will let us get XL from trading that’s a bit tedious to for for these new Raids. And what about the Legendary Pokémon when they eventually get added to the DMax raids? It’s good for not having everything easy but this company have a weird way to let you have to go throughout leaps and bounds just to get One single thing in this game. Lastly I’m hoping they’ll eventually add whatever equivalent to “Max Soup” you get in Isle of Amor, so if you have a Pokémon that has the G-Max form can do it at some point. Or else what’s the point of my lvl 50 Machamp if it can’t G-Max????

I agree there should item like dynamax piece or shard to help your current pokemon to dynamax after all all pokemon should be allowed to dynamax include your old pokemon your so hard to train. Let hope they see that. But for now I just do one Max battle of each pokemon and use it for max battle and don't care on iv until a rework or gmax become available.

It seems like the powerspots appear at requested locations (wayfarer) which can't be displayed because they are to close to a pokestop or gym (20 metres). At least there is one at an requested Pokestoplocation of mine which has been accepted but didn't pop up there because of the mentioned point.

How would it be hard to code Dynamax in other aspects of the game ? They are introducing Morpeko with moves that change its form mid battle in PvP . We also have a button to Mega Evolve , could do the same . This is just another mechanic Niantic is milking to make the game last longer . Also a waste of all our hard work prior since we now have to use candy & dust to power up MORE mons . Also another thing to ear at our storage space

I understnad the games goal is to have people active but local play is shit unless its around events or special day. I go to the most popular spot to play in my city and it can be challenging to find others to help with raids. Unless its raid day. metagross Meteor Mash for .1 speed faster with update. He’s still a Top 10 Steel attacker and Shadow Gross is #3 now. Metal Claw got super buffed that’s why Excadrill is now better
