David A. Pizarro, professor of psychology at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, is interested in learning how people determine right and wrong, good and bad, and how we arrive at moral judgments. His research investigates how emotions, in particular disgust, influence these judgments. He has found that people who experience a lot of disgust are more likely to find certain acts to be wrong and are especially likely to hold conservative moral beliefs.

Anyone else feel disgust when they look at social media? Especially when people use sped up songs it really disgusts me. In person, I am not disgusted by much, only online.

met too but my disgust is only triggered when i see anything that involves - misogyny,, mansplaining, victim blaming , narcissist, alpha males, the manosphere, conservatives, and anything right wing. i literally cant watch it.

I used to be so far left people were disgusted by me and I'd become the freak in the room, just a few years later I'm disgusted by my former self and most people as I realize they have zero standards and are narcissistic and opportunistic as hell. I wish someone would have signed me up for church before everyone got on social media 😂 Though I'm also disgusted by plenty of religious people. I'm down with God, but "authorities" and "influencers" are vomit worthy 🤮 To be fair to myself I was never actually like these people or making the demands they do, they're trying to be edgy and racing eachother to the bottom.

Liberals have thicker anterior cingulate cortex in their brains which react more to external stimulation. And this means they are more easily offended by people who offend them first like sexism and racism.

Being offended isn’t the same as being disgusted. It’s because their empathy tends to extent to a higher degree to people outside of their “immediate group” as oppose to conservatives.

They're looking for reasons to create drama because they want to go viral. If they can get their "followers" to freak out over something "problematic" they can pretend to be a hero and gain status. They'll literally set themselves and eachother on fire then blame someone else as a "trigger". Though I'm female and sexism is very real, why do you think "trans" genderisim is trending. Autogynephiles (guys) want sexual attention and girls are trying to escape wankers by chopping of their boobs and growing a beard. There's not even a place for these girls in religious communities because guys demand submission but prove endlessly that they can't be trusted therefore can't get respect. Instead they demand authority and religion is dying as a result. Too bad. Could have been really beneficial to society but guys just want power.

I'm doubtful about that. I think some people on the left stick very strongly to their opinions and are very intolerant to opinions they don't agree with. They don't accept to discuss their believes; hence, they have a conservative attitude psychologically speaking
