Alright, I’m just going to clear things up: In Elsewhere and Elsewhen, we learn that Eda and her father, Dell, carved Eda’s palisman together back before Eda ran away from home, that is Olwbert not Hooty. In Knock Knock Knockin on Hooty’s Door, Hooty tells King that he is a bug demon. We see proof of this when we learn that bug demons communicate through dance, and Hooty understands two other bud demons communicating along with taking great offense to King’s dance, implying that King unintentionally said something mean about Hooty’s mother. We also learn in that episode that ALL demons arose from the muck of a decomposing titan, meaning that Hooty was not carved, he is not made of palastrum wood, he is a demon who was not carved by anybody. In both episodes I have mentioned and more episodes, you can see in the house that there is a framed picture on the wall. This picture shows the tower behind the owl house, it even has the window that it present day located in Eda’s room. In Elsewhere and Elsewhen, Dell says that Eda had fixed up his old tower. This means that the tower belonged to the Clawthorne family, and Eda built the house in front of it, and most likely moved the window to her room because she missed her family so having a piece of the tower in her room was her way of staying close, along with building a home by the tower in the first place. We also learn that episode that the two had not contacted each other or seen one another after Eda hurt Dell, meaning that either while injured Dell left for a while and during that time period Gwen brings the healer to the house and then Eda runs away, or more likely the two events occurred the same evening. Gwen said “Lilith, call the healing coven!” So I believe Eda ran away the same night. So when does Hooty meet Eda? We don’t know, but we do have a general time frame. Let me explain: In Hollow Mind, Raine, Darius, and Eberwolf accidentally send Hunter and Luz into Belos’s mind, and in order to fix things, they all approach the owl house. When this happens, Raine writes in the dirt that they know how to get past Hooty, and the next we see is Hooty receiving a bouquet of flowers, telling Eda that she has a “secret admirer”, the flowers once put into water turn into the potion to enter the mindscape, a note left along with it. This means that Raine knew that Hooty had a weakness, love. We know that Hooty literally had a tunnel of love set up for Luz and Amity, and I’ll talk more about that and when that was built in a minute, so of course if Raine disguised the potion with flowers, Hooty wouldn’t think twice before bringing a potential weapon inside. If Raine knew this about Hooty, that means they knew Hooty. We learned in Knock Knock Knockin on Hooty’s Door that Raine broke up with Eda when the two were in their early twenties. So if Raine knew Hooty while the two were dating, that means Hooty and Eda met anytime between Eda running away around the age of 15-16 and building the house, and being in her young adult years. Also, a fun little headcanon about the tunnel of love is that the reason it was built so quickly is because it was originally for Raine and Eda when the two were in their teenage years. Eda ran away from home when she was 15-16, her and Raine were still just friends, and eventually Eda meets Hooty as a teen and maybe Hooty even helps build the house. At some point Hooty decided to make the tunnel of love to get Eda and Raine to confess their feelings for each other. For this headcanon to work, Hooty and Eda would have met when Eda was a teenager, and Raine and Eda would have stayed friends until their late teenage years, which is probably realistic, the two only met seven months before Eda’s live was turned upside down by being cursed, and I’m sure that her being cursed and withdrawing from everyone delayed the two dating for some time.

Something I forgot to mention: Hooty is a house demon, but that doesn’t mean he was carved. House demon isn’t one of the three main categories for demons, but rather a subcategory I’d assume. We don’t know if he was always a house demon and he just started out in a smaller house, or if he became a house demon after moving into the door, or if house demons have to be in homes or grow into being house demons. He wasn’t carved though, and the mysteries I mentioned in the comment will probably never be explained. It was implied in the crossover comic that Hooty used to be a kitten, though this is obviously not canon, it just adds to the fact that Hooty was designed to not make sense, so us all debating in this comment section about his nature is pointless, I just made these comments so people understood what actually was explained between Dell and Eda in Elsewhere and Elsewhen
