They look tacky as hell. It's just a bunch of junk randomly stuck on the truck with no rhyme or reason. It adds weight to a truck that's already being pushed beyond what the manufacturer intended, plus it creates unnecessary hazards.

The same axle bridge was broken before and attempts were made to repair it by welding. While the load was tons more than the allowed carrying amount, the same bridge broke again where it was repaired and the truck lost its balance and fell to its right side. The repairs, which were not made properly to be cheap during the first break, turned out to be a much larger expense later on. The British saying "I am not rich enough to buy cheap goods" is not said in vain.

At 18:30-18:50 he reassembled that totally wrong....if you go back to 12:00 when he pulls that outer idler casting off,two of those big flat washers were spacers between the casting and the adjacent spindle truck body casting. When he re-assembles it, instead of putting two of those washers on first. Then feeding the casting onto the spindle....he shoved the casting on without them...then He just stuffs them all in at the end between the grease cover and the outer face of the casting. Some of the folks in the videos on this channel are amazing and quite talented, especially the welding repairs, casting of gears and parts, mold making... but there some of these guys who seem to just wing it when re-assembling important things. I guess in the scope of things, that truck is so beat, and in a month or two some other casting or axle or steering part will fail. So I guess those two thin spacer washers being in the wrong place are inconsequential. The suspension idler casting just might not pivot as freely as it would if assembled correctly.

Hats down to them and how they repair stuff, but repairs are shady.. The bridge attachment broke because of cheap improper repair or it was cracked to start with, but I suspect a bad repair and I bet the cargo exceded the capacity at least 1.5 times. Results are expected. The next breakdown will be the rear axle tie, which was almost ground through on one side, probably after being draged on the road for some distance. (22:20) I don't know what other cause would make it look so.. Overall lesson - cheap repairs often become very expensive.

Labor is cheap in these third world countries. It's much cheaper for them to remove the broken piece and weld it 10 times then to replace that piece with a brand new piece.

I worked for a construction company in Arizona who had a fleet of HD work trucks. They would rotate these trucks out of their fleets and purchase new equipment on a regular basis. They would do before they started having major problems with them. Even though they had a workshop that was prepared to fix most anything, the labor and parts costs to do the kind of work these guys are doing would be far to expensive.
@gen1575 ай бұрын
One of our local competitors(well, they open new locations down the road from any of our locations) leases brand new service trucks for 3 years and rotates them out with new every 3 years. Meanwhile my company still has us running 300k mile trucks from 2010-2015. One of our trucks goes down, it messes up all sorts of things, and the costs are so high. Had a transmission blow up in one, $2500 later and 2 months out of service, we get it back just to have it wrecked.

The double rear axles is enough weight for that light cargo Izuzo engine to pull
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj7 ай бұрын
The root of all of these problems comes down to using trucks never designed to carry those types of loads. I don't know how these engines and transmissions withstand the constant abuse they receive. They are taking medium duty class 6 trucks and they are turning them into severe duty class 8 trucks. The truck in this video is an isuzu fvr 240 which has a maximum loaded weight of just under 40,000 lbs total and probably overloading it with double that weight. The frames and suspension can't handle the weight so they strip the frame and make it a triple or quadruple frame using steel from scrapped ships. The original frames are a high tinsile strength structural steel and they are adding multiple layers of mild steel with heating and welding creating brittle and weak points in the frame. Then they install hino style trunion leaf suspension. These trucks do no have adequate braking for the loads being carried.

I can only assume that the community has now become numb or completely indifferent to the spectacular incidents of trucks littering the streets like overturned beach whales obviously the circumstances of these incidents can only be explained as a structural failure the entire process of dealing with the repercussions of the accident is to quickly assess the damage and get the issue resolved as quickly as possible to ensure the truck is somewhat roadworthy and is fully operational what’s remarkable is they literally repair the truck exactly where it’s parked unlike western countries that truck would be towed to a garage or different location for repairs which would take days to access the damage and months for the repairs to be completed so who’s the real winner here
