Having to sign an NDA to ensure the protection of legitimate company IP/secrets makes sense. Having to sign an NDA because the employer/powerful person doesn't want to be subject to claims of abuse, wrongful dismissal or just have negative things said about them publicly (even if they are true) is absolutely disgusting and ought to be legislated against.
