Hi, all cricket fans are welcome to discuss, 1- Cricket as a game pre-dates technology. Ground judgement errors are in favor of the sport, not against it. EG: bowlers today are getting fewer wickets bec of DRS. Cricket isn't science that PRECISE measurement should preside over the spirit of sports, i.e. competition. 2- Yes, the decision of 6 runs in the final over was accepted as incorrect, but it was NOT wrong, NONE of the NZ players challenged it or appealed against it. 3- Ben would've never intentionally pushed the ball for a 4. It'd have left Adil Rashid on the strike - the worst possibility of them all. WHY SHOULD HIS STRIKE BE COMPROMISED BECAUSE OF AN OPPONENT's ACTION? At such a crucial moment? 4- Assuming that even if 6 runs were needed on the last ball, Boult anyways missed the Yorker & bowled a FULL TOSS, Ben could've comfortably hit that in the air. But, in this case he chose to not risk a Catch & went for a single - intelligently. 5- Despite the drama, it was still a TIE in the end & NZ still had the chance to win in the super over, where they LOST fair & square. That should end the debate but I understand emotions are also part of the game & see this is what sports have given us ultimately - A DEEP DISCUSSION which would chaff away emotional casuals from the actual cricket fans. Wow!

Technicall the match was won by newzealand brcause umpire kunar dharamsena admit that it was a calculation error in the match they should give 5 runs to the overthrow by guptill in which ben stokes is in the line of throw so the situation would be 2 ball 4 runs needed but due to mis calculation it turn out 2 ball 3 runs so if there is no ertor in calculation England need 3 run 1 ball instead of 2 run 1 ball . And they won the match by 2 runs but the day is set for England first world cup surely one of zhe best world cup final we have ever sern both team play like a champions hope to see more close finals in icc event may be we see this type of final in 2024 t 20 world cup ongoing between mighty Australia vs west indies

Don't think Poms were whinnying about Spirit of the Game, were they? Anyways he raised his hands, so that made it in the spirit of the game; it's the thought that counts I guess! Most under deserving team to win the tournament ever, and the crazy thing was the whole thing could have been avoided if third umpires were allowed to intervene whenever it's required. Stokes should have never been in the strike and who knows what would have happened, maybe Rashid would have smacked couple of sixes.

I am very furious about this entire world cup. First of all neither of the toppers are in the finals. The tournament should definitely have ipl playoffs style. I mean make 1 and 2 which is india and australia play qualifier 1. Let's say Australia win then make 3 and 4 which is england and new zealand play eliminator. Let's say England wins then make india face england for qualifier 2 and lets say india win. Now we have our finalists which are india and australia. Before the finals make the looser of qualifier 2 play with looser of eliminator. In this case england vs new Zealand. The winner who let's say is England will be third place. After that make Australia face india for the grand finale and the looser who will be australia can be crowned 2nd. The winner who is india would have won first in the world cup 2019!! England lost to minnows Sri Lanka and also lost to Australia and Pakistan. I agree New Zealand were not the best team in the group stages but who else deserved to be in the semi final in place of them? Pakistan lost badly to minnows West Indies and India and Australia. They almost lost to Afghanistan and only won because of umpiring errors in the end. So it’s fair to say New Zealand qualified for the final fair and square

And coming to the semi final. Once the ball got old it stopped swinging (after 30th over) so batting got easier and still India struggled even after that. Secondly spinners also picked up wickets in India’s innings and rain had nothing to do with that. India lost the semi final because of Dhoni’s slow innings. That’s the bitter truth. He should’ve been a bit more aggressive then India would’ve surely won!
