Zirkzee’s hold up play and his link ups are absolutely insane. But the most impressive thing to me is how hungry Amad Diallo looked. He wanted to attack every single time, made runs at defenders etc. Add in Rashy’s fantastic goal & Garnacho’s relentlessness from the bench & it was a great day. But let’s remember Southampton is the worst team in the PL, so let’s not overreact. But it’s a great way to build form.

I'm a huge fan of your content. But sometimes I feel some of these contents not just yours, actually expose the club and give our opponents clues on how to stop the team. I see these as more of a curse than a blessing. Not every manager and tactical coaches have time to analyze their opponents and so when they come to see these kind of contents, it makes their work less stressful. I'm not saying your work is bad but sometimes instead of throwing it here for all to see, send it through the right channels and I'm sure it'll be appreciated more by the club and that way they figure out how to deal with their weaknesses better. Great video. I thought Zirkzee 's play was really interesting, there were glimpses where his interplay with Rashford was so promising, they seem to understand eachother so well and can draw in defenders and then release the other on to an attack8ng footing in behind them. I don't mind that he's not a killer in front of goal yet, we needed a player like Zirkzee so much to link play in attack and who can hold the ball up and who plays with his brain at all times. Drawing in players and then having Amad or garnacho loose on the other side will bring a lot of goals i think

Zirkzee and Mazraoui were beasts in that game, it has been a while since we had a full back take runs at goal (Valencia used to do that before Van Gaal came along), Zirkzee was very overlooked please make a video of his performance. If he stays like that soon Barca and Real Madrid will come after him (if not next summer the one after). His movement is alot like Ronaldinho and it is starting to show. I can't wait for his linkup with Hojlund.

I was always told that with the ball you want to make the pitch bigger. Inverted wingers make the pitch smaller. It would be nice to see lefties on the left (Amad or Antony) and righties on the right (Rashford or Garnacho). Inverted is too predictable. Look at the third goal with Dalot on the right cutting it across for Garnacho. That is the kind of simple and effective football we need.

Yeah, I'm with you on this. Honestly, I don't buy this inverted winger stuff because it's too predictable. Let's go for the simple and traditional stuff of creating width with the proper wingers (not inverted) where they will hug the touchline and pull out or cut back like the last goal. What a beautiful analysis that was! And haters would say why you people celebrated beating a newly promoted championship side. Man, that soton team had the best possession football only after city. If EtH did stumble upon the correct tactic, then it's yet another example of him and his team getting it wrong, then adapting. It worked in his first season when we had options tp change things - I distinctly remember Weghorst/Garnacho coming on and/or Bruno changing position and winning us games. Last season, he got it wrong too often and didn't have the squad/players fit to change the game. This season should mirror more the first season with a bit of luck... but I do question long term whether a manager that gets his prep wrong so often is the right man for the job. IMO we should be looking to use width as much as possible and only playing through the middle when the opportunity presents itself. It's too easy for even poor teams to stuff up the middle against us and get a result. Fulham nearly got a result doing it, Brighton did it (albeit with a big slice of luck) and Liverpool did it whilst looking very average - of course Slot is now the messiah and the best ever after a couple of average performances but nothing new there from the Scousers.
