Recovering from a nasty divorce and addiction, Erin French was lost before she found freedom in her hometown of Freedom, Maine. She opened The Lost Kitchen restaurant, one of the hardest-to get reservations in the world. The cookbook author, bestselling memoirist and TV chef talks with correspondent Martha Teichner about her life story, and of her restaurant that is so in demand that reservations are won by lottery.

Beautiful story. CBS Sunday Morning is perhaps the only program that makes network television worthwhile.

I'm happy for Erin and look forward to reading her book. I like that her kitchen seems peaceful...cooking should be therapeutic, not chaotic. The "reservation" system seems kitschy. People might not hear back on their request for reservations for years...that just seems wrong. Someone in the comments says this place is on their bucket list - good luck.

the mill is beautiful! a piece of property like that is probably unaffordable for most. I wonder if she owns it or what? of course, all decent TV is also unaffordable for a large part of the population. too bad!

It is hard to tell when Erin says his name. It sound like she is saying Jane. His name is actually Jaim. He was introduced on an episode and his name was at the bottom left of the TV screen. That is how I know. Now you know. 😊 I really enjoy watching The Lost Kitchen. I think it's one of the best series on TV as a whole but it is on Magnolia Network. I don't think I would watch TV as much if this show did not exist. Hopefully Magnolia Network will continue new seasons for years. It is one of the few wholesome shows on TV and the best series the food network or HGTV for sure. TLK is very unique, inspiring and fresh!!! Way overdue, I was about to drop cable. I'll keep it, for now.
