@@link_junior Except that's not the reason at all. Germany is a Christian and Humanist society, those are the values it was founded on and they've been the focus since long before the world wars. They place significant focus on altruism (doing things for the benefit of other, less fortunate people) and the universal, inherent dignity of every human (meaning you don't create - or ignore - situations in which said human dignity is threatened, and that applies to ALL humans, not just your own citizens). No one will forget what Germany did in WW2. Germany itself specifically doesn't WANT it to be forgotten, that's why there is such a massive focus on remembrance of past atrocities in our education, art and collective culture in general. Oblivion is _surely_ not the intent behind any of Germany's actions today. It's all fun and games to have that line in a humorous video where all countries' stances are simplified and that accusation WAS definitely thrown around quite a bit back in 2015, but when you try to claim it as true when it simply isn't, that's when I take issue with it.

The concept of democracy is only the mass opiate of the day. @@ElizondoAbelardo It's government will need substantial reforms on a fundamental level if the democratic aspects of it are to stand the test of time once more. Trump was after all just a symptom. I hope they will manage but I have my doubts. Good people can still make grave errors. As a German, that's a sad aspect of life we grow up with. I am always amazed how far the two party system has pushed itself, historically speaking. The current conflict has been getting worse since the early 60ies, that's more than half a century. I fear that this will be the last decent window of opportunity the US gets to effectively combat her decline, internally as well as internationally without having to take large risks. With China on the rise, they will have to step up their game a lot to protect what they built over the years. And the latter is unlikely to collapse as the Soviets did. Always breaks my heart to see how the US are doing these days, for as a young kid, I used to look up to them a lot. Particularly the federal government. In retrospective, childish nativity, even back then. How quickly the years pass. Although I am young, I remember the enthusiasm this country once inspired. Maybe, it will do so once again. I was thinking Turkey will pop up at the end and say "just give me money, I'll keep the refuges" :)
@Konte13 жыл бұрын
And fyi, as far as i know Turkey has spent over 8 billion euros on refugees while Europe gave them only 2 billion. Turkey already struggels with their economy but they keep spending money on refugees. Europe just doesnt care about refugees or in what situation Turkey is as far as Turkey keeps stopping them from going into Europe. I mean, Turkey has the most refugees ( more than 4 million) but still is the one who get criticised the most. Why?
@Konte13 жыл бұрын
This is from Wikipedia: As part of Turkey's migrant crisis, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in 2018 Turkey was hosting 63% of all the refugees in the world, that is over 3.5 million registered refugees from Africa and the Middle East in total. More than a third of the refugees are hosted in Southeastern Turkey, near the Syria-Turkey border. Turkey allocated 30 billion between 2011-2018 on refugee assistance. Over 13 million Syrians received aid from the Turkish Aid Agency (AFAD). Turkey has spent more than any other country on Syrian refugee aid, and has also been subject to criticism for opening refugee camps on the Syrian side of the border. Financial aid from other countries to Syrian Refugees has been limited, though €3,200,000,000 was promised by the EU in November 2015. In March 2016, the EU and Turkey agreed on the EU-Turkey Statement, which involved a number of political concessions as well as 'another €3 billion in aid, if Turkey agreed to a readmission of Syrians arriving in Greece and tighter border controls.'

@@melisademir9137 You are kidding right? Don't even worth mentioning that the EU is financing Greece to take in refugees (Off the record of course). And if you think that the refugees are welcomed in Germany your delusional or at least mistaken. There's a reason that refugees don't go to Germany. CAUSE THEY CAN'T. Germany is paying our traitor politicians big money to keep them here, and ofc the people of Greece have no other choice. Also in theory, the refugees could take a nice boat trip by the Mediterranean sea and go to Italy, Switzerland and then in Germany.
