What has his wifes presence got to do with anything? Ppl shouldn't give her that pressure. He made a choice, went through with it. Its unfortunate but when ppl get to that point, nothing and no one can stop them

@@obibuaku agree.. HOwever, I asked because people who commit suicide generally dont have a support system and feel worthless...HAving a support system like a wife and children can prevent people from committing suicide. that was why i asked. I am a doctor and most of my patients that commit suicide dont have a support system like family

You are doctor and don't know that statistically, men; whilst having support are ashamed/ embarassed to talk to their family and friends, much less a therapist? There is a stigma in using counselling services in Nigeria. A person that is suicidal needs professional help. Their support system is imperative during their work with a skilled and trained therapists. You are a Doctor and the immediate thing that came to your mind was "where was his wife?" Not all Drs are great if we are honest. Especially Afrcan doctors-too clouded by tradition/culture. I have heard of a OB/GYN who had a patient die in child birth becsuse he refused her a c-section citing "its not the right way to have a baby" 😮😮 This is sad news all round, but its our own responsibility to take care of our memtal health, reach out to resources, engage family & friends. Do the work. If he hid it from his wife, thats on him. Ps he actually called his brother and instructed him on how to divide his assets. He knew he could call ppll, i conclude that he was ashamed of his illness. He had the means to get the best help here in the US or Europe. He didn't. May he be at peace now. And may his wife suffer no backlash due to the unfortunate and sad yet real choices of her husband. @OlufunshiAyo
