On HuffPoo, when I describe my Mom, my sister and my daughter (who are all tough as nails, fiercely powerful and NOT feminists) feminists are compelled to counter it, that they are really oppressed and suffer from internalized misogyny, or that I made them up. Feminism hates womyn.

Vyktor Dreygo That's never going to fly though, because our experiences are meaningless in the face of ~systematic~ cultural oppression and whatever we say will be instantly shot down because of ~privilege~. This is why the hug-box safe-spaces work. Because they echo-chamber the shit out of each other and reinforce, ironically enough, the same message of WEAKNESS. Never mind the fact that everybody deals with adversity differently. It doesn't matter anymore, because all they can hear is echoes. Honestly, it's a little terrifying, at this point. And sad. Because they are pushing away actual women of power from the very movement they claim to represent. I mean, fuck. When BasedMom tells you to shut up and look at what you're doing because you're being a poopy-head, you damn well shut up and examine your poopy-headed actions. Really now.

Thank you again Factual Feminist for bringing some sanity to the crazy that is invading our college campuses. I attended a liberal all womens college in the 90s and saw some of the feminist hysteria. The allegations that the thesaurus was wrong (brought to me by my creative writing professor, she wound up hating me as I wrote purposely inflammatory essays just to "trigger" her) and that women were constantly under assault. On an all womens' campus, they handed out rape whistles and spent a week in our orientation speaking on the dangers of men. We truly need more level headed feminists like you Christina. We need to encourage our young women that they can be whatever they choose to be. But their choices, not the patriarchy, shape society. I chose to get a degree in the sciences. I chose to have an occupation in technology. And I earn the same money and have the same opportunities that my male counterparts have. Please dont stop the good work that you're doing in the name of keeping feminism active, and level headed

Everyone with a son should be very worried about the campus environment. I read about the 3rd wave feminists and used to just cringe or laugh. Now that I have a toddler boy, I fear for his future, especially if he wants to go away to college. The optimistic side of me says this insanity will fade out before he reaches college age. I hope this era is looked back on as shameful as it plainly is.
@GreyException8 жыл бұрын
Is this really true? If so, I'm glad that a parent can see this glaring issue.
@EvilMonkey78188 жыл бұрын
GreyException The protests Christina Hoff Sommers mentions can be found here on KZbin. I figure before my toddler gets to college age, the psycho babble of today, the SJW lies have to have faded away. If it's somehow the same or even worse, all parents of boys should be very worried.
@GreyException8 жыл бұрын
EvilMonkey7818 I have the same predicament/uncanny feeling in my stomach that you could call the "gut-feeling". I've given myself anxiety to the point where I can't physically sit or walk without physical discomfort, I actually find it intriguing yet incredibly frustrating. I just wish I could reverse time and never had gotten it in the first place. I really think this is correlated with the pressing issues that surround young males, and it's going to be a national, if not global topic of discussion.
@EvilMonkey78188 жыл бұрын
GreyException I'm surprised there aren't more parents fighting the hostile toward men environments of colleges today. My son is still just an infant and I'm optimistic their will be a backlash against the feminist/SJW nutjobs well before he's 18. The fight has already begun. Look at the popularity of Milo Yiannopoulos's "Dangerous Faggot" tour. Many people are revealing the insanity of SJWs and feminists here on KZbin. These videos criticizing and exposing the crazies are not going to ever stop. Keep that in mind. Only problem is the hostility toward boys begins much earlier than college. That's another issue unto itself. My wife has joked that I'm not allowed to talk to my son's future teachers if they want a parent/teacher conference. I'll be calling them cunts as I explain how foolish they are.
@GreyException8 жыл бұрын
EvilMonkey7818 I would like to say I am, but I'm not. For as long as I can remember, from every single end, parents, school, media, peers, for many hot topics of debate, I felt/feel largely secluded due to my inability to conclude based on limited information. *There is literally only one person in this world (who I guess, should be considered one of my best friends) where we can both exchange thoughts/opinions without drowning out each other's voice with the vocal equivalent of plugging fingers in the ears and stomping our feet on the ground- which is what a majority of society tends to do.* I noticed that parents argued a lot. I asked myself, why? The answer I concluded at that age- *People get angry over silly things, they get emotional, they don't want to back down and refuse to analyze the situation, they want to be right, all the time*- well, except for when the big boss comes in @ work, but that's mostly irrelevant. It's under my belief (given my forever limited experiences) that finding self-aware parents is like finding a needle in a haystack. Self-awareness in general, not as common as I would like it to be. I just think that the lack of self-awareness is a common thread and definite negative contributor when discussing any issue or having any argument with anybody. In tangent with parents who take the hard work route, they have little to no time, and when they do, they want to relax- which is completely understandable. They live, to work. Well more specifically, "he". I'll quote his words verbatim "Do your fucking research", "Unlike you, I actually do my research, it's backed by law, by facts, by science"- all of these generally said at random moments, never being tied directly to anything I've said so I can't defend myself in any way. Probably just displaying a typical common fallacy, thinking that his competence in his field = competence everywhere else. Still annoying to hear from my own father though, and it just goes to show what type of parents are out there. Man... sorry for this long post lmao, I have a habit of expelling more than what people want to read. I'm more optimistic than I was a few months ago even. Just watching Sommers talk about feminism in a non-cringe-inducing way was stress-relieving.

I only have an opinion to share on this but here goes: This video is amazing. I love how so many women are speaking out against this kind of feminism. I believe in equality and justice but there's no such thing perpetuated when one group of people have sway over the vast majority (such as colleges and even whole websites) simply because they are louder, more radical (or violent) in their methods, or simply far more persistent and overt. You do not have to be a feminist to give or receive respect. You don't need to be loud or boisterous to be heard. You can be angry, you can be hurt, and you can certainly choose to do it naked or scantily dressed... But it's your responsibility to take the consequences of such actions and you certainly shouldn't ignore the rest of the world when they've turned their backs on such madness.

My school, like the ones highlighted in this video, has turned its back on the very ideals of resilience and stoicism. Have we honestly learned nothing? In one of my graduate school classes, one woman mentioned rape culture (it was in a class taught by KC Johnson who was one of the citizen journalists who uncovered the truth in the Duke LaCrosse false rape case) and another woman who had genuinely never heard the term asked her to define the concept. The first woman went absolutely ballistic as thrthe question itself was literally the same as her being raped. At that time, I too did not understand the issues surrounding this debate and I couldn't understand what was so wrong, or indeed at all wrong, with the question. We have arrived at a point where merely asking a question is not allowed and the worst part is its happening in the place where inquiry is most vital; our institutions of higher learning. It has to stop.

Schedule regular showers in public showers stalls with guards to ensure safety. Secure safe transport to these facilities by train... @Christina wonderful videos, this one in particular has a great ending: "if you feel safe about doing it please follow me" and "I hope I haven't triggered anyone" I still don't understand the concept of 'triggering' or 'micro-aggressions', the whole thing seems made up to me.

Christina... Is there any way to get you to come talk at a campus, because I would just be so overjoyed if the people on my campus were able to here you talk about these issues and give them the logic and reasoning that can open their perspective! I always think to myself that the people I go to college are intellectual and logical people because they are going on to get their higher education, yet so many of the students have such skewed ideas of reality thanks to this new age feminism that is just poisoning their minds. I really feel like these people need to hear this information from a ration leading female figure to really get the point across, and you do it so well!

Just want to lend my support to you and what you are up against, I'm am sure it must not be easy. Honestly, at this point I would advocate for segregated colleges. The campus has become a minefield for men (just imagine if that teacher was male, he would be out of a job right now just like Tim Hunt). Boys are now walking targets for social blackmail and scapegoating. It will take tremendous amounts of self introspection to recover these students from the indoctrination of 20 years of radical feminist and post-modernist ideology. That will only be accomplished when these students are left to survive to their own devices.

Gotta respect Christina Sommers for doing all these videos. A lot of KZbinrs seem to resort to "Hey, look at what these idiots are doing now," while these videos actually talk about the consequences and effects of such things. It's easy to say "these people suck." Harder to say "these people suck because X and can do better by doing Y."

Well. I for one, welcome our new fainting fragile overlords! And on a more serious note, as the local Patriarchy representative, I welcome these peoples input in the discussion on wether females are ruled by emotions or not! and on a even more serious note I weep for my kids (all boys) and the western world.

Every time I heard about “safe space” come to my mind a calm and quiet room where there are cushions everywhere, where one can’t be harm and where anybody getting it the room is there to take care of this person... basically the same definition of a padded cell.

I’m about to start high school and I hope that when I get in to a college this won’t happen, all I need my education and too expand my mind, not to be closed minded and full of my self, like safe space and, fainting chare like What may god assist them and open there mind that there is going to be racist stuff and discrimination but you can fight it just be open minded and have a strong emotion so nothing can hurt your feelings. College need to get there act together or I’m going to online college if there one I hope there one. Thank you so much for making this love your work.

Interesting you referenced Socrates there (3:15), is that related to his death sentence for "corrupting the minds of the youth of Athens"?

I love you. Where do you teach? What do you teach? Please be what I'm majoring in so that I have an excuse to take all of your classes. I consider myself a feminist, but I want nothing to do with those crazy fanatics. I don't want to be associated with men-hating hypocrites who say women are strong one second then go on to say women can't handle debate or someone's lecture. I love critical debates. I love to learn and have my knowledge or understanding of something expanded upon. I love to be proven wrong, because that means I've learned something. Thank you for doing what you do.

I tried showing this series to my step mom. 5 seconds in and she started saying that it was a a lie and that Ms. Sommers was a conservative just being paid to say things. She then said I was being turned into a misogynistic woman hater. Despite how for so long I was being so nice to her. I couldn't even get a word in edge wise. It infuriated me that she wouldn't listen to my point of view.

I quite like the snarky ending of this video. It's great to see someone who isn't intimidated by the "fainting couch feminists" (I may borrow that term in the future, it's quite fitting) and says what she thinks despite having dissenters protest her directly. American universities could learn a few things from you.

with an ever growing list of things "taboo" to discuss on campus, I fear they may soon outlive their usefulness. You go there to learn but if all you learn is gender politics and how to not offend anyone ever (impossible lol), that time could be used to hone skills that will help you in life.

These are great videos. I never thought all this crazy feminist stuff I see online would affect lil' ol' me until I went to the orientation for my transfer to university and they made a big deal about sexual harassment and "affirmative consent" of flirting and such. May as well sign an agreement. I'd love it if Christina Hoff Sommers came to speak at my campus (Cal Poly Pomona). I shouldn't have to be fearful of just living my day to day life because of these angry women that are offended by everything.

While this video went well appreciated, I really hope you get to discuss the recent Washington Post study on sexual assault on college campuses. It seems to refute some of your previous points and opinions on the topic, and I'd like to see your response.

I'm not going to attend university /because/ of all this crap. I kinda wanted to before, but now I've done with secondary school and college, I don't want to anymore. I've heard of mandatory "consent classes" being given to new students (only male, for some reason) at universities in the US but apparently it's becoming a thing here in the UK too now. So it's a big fat NOPE for me until they sort this out, if ever.
