Likelihood is, use the Investment Bank and the Gatling Cannon. Have a few meatshields (Trowel, Battler, Dual Regen, Brigand, Titan, any of that kinda stuff; I'd recommend Dual Regen, Brigand, Titan, and Trowel) and Chairman, Wes, Sniper, Medic/Healer (Depending on what you want). You can switch any of those out if you don't use or have them for something else. I'd try to upgrade my bank as quickly as possible, at least until comfortable income is made (seeing as how a Titan spawns first), then put a Titan, Dual Regen, and a Healer/Medic. I'd then cover it with Trowel and Brigand while waiting to put out the other units. I'd repeat that until I get a ton of snipers and 1-2 Chairmen, and eventually you should overpower the enemies. Sorry the steps are broad and not too detailed, but I can't remember exactly how I beat Taaaank 3 star myself, only vaguely since the stream was a bit ago. I hope this helps somewhat, though! If you don't have some units, I unfortunately can't come up with another strategy at the moment, I'm fairly busy.

Especially since Snipers are still good, along with a better recharge now than before. It'd be a bit too easy compared to something like this.

The point doesn't really stand, no. It's not the worst unit if in a team with the other units, it's just annoying because RNG can be terrible. They all build off each other; there's a reason you can't beat the game with only one unit. But, if you want a unit listed, considering many others dislike Banhammer Battler because it's such an odd upgrade in the alt form compared to its normal form (in which it doesn't really upgrade all that much), people are annoyed by it and would rather anything else, so I'd say that's annoying and bad solo, because I bet it wouldn't get far.
