Every time he says "Forgotten Valley" it makes me feel deep, immense pain inside. I know the Story of Seasons version calls it Forgotten Valley, but I grew up with the original Harvest Moon version on GameCube - in fact, I still have it in my collection - and they always called it Forget-Me-Not Valley, which honestly makes more sense in my opinion. I know I probably sound like a grouchy purist, but changing the name doesn't make much sense. It's not like the Super Mario RPG remake, where they had to change Mack's name to Claymorton because of copyright reasons. Unless the original name of Forget-Me-Not Valley is owned by the new Harvest Moon company, which seems highly unlikely considering that pretty much every other name in the game remains consistent. It's a very small change in the grand scheme of things, but it's one that I feel very strongly about. Edit: It turns out that my memory has betrayed me, as the names of most, if not all characters have been changed in Story of Seasons. I had a moment of the Mandela effect, so the name may have been changed due to legal reasons after all. The whole Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon situation is really weird, man.

When I was writing the script, I seriously considered keeping all the names the same as they were in the original game. Forget-Me-Not Valley, Galen, Muffy, the lot. But then I considered a lot of people who watch this video may not have played the original and I didn't want to alienate them by calling characters by names that aren't in the remake. I'm with you though 100%. The original names were fine and I don't care if they were "poorly translated."

I have a question- were you watering your crops once a day or twice a day prior to upgrades? I've been trying to use this as something of a guide, but I keep running out of time when watering twice a day. I'm not sure if I planted too many crops or what. Knowing what time of day you were sleeping also would be really helpful. Alternatively, could you consider making a video or series of videos on how to do a 100% run?

To answer your questions succinctly; I did water my crop twice a day, but some days I forgot or chose not to show it if that day was a long edit. I didn't focus too much on crops early-game since you only needed to grow one S rank crop for the encyclopedia and I knew once you had a lot of money, you could just buy seeds from Vesta's for hybrids. Most of my time the first year was spent running around town giving people eggs, milk, cooked item, digsite finds, and flowers to get their friendship up. Most days I would end up going to sleep around 10:30 or 11 PM. I've considered making a video on how to 100% the game, but it all really comes down to me following guides. Upgrading fruit trees before planting is pretty straightforward outside of the blue variants. All you need is an S rank crop seed! You combine that with any rank tree seed and you should get an S rank tree seed!

I don't like pineapple, but strangely I don't mind if a pizza has been cooked with pineapple and then you pick the pineapple off, just leaving a hint of the flavor without any of the fruity crunch. would recommend if you've never tried it.

In my opinion, there is no "wrong" way to play! Sure, you can be efficient, but the most important part of any farming game is playing at your pace and how you want! I wanted to get all the wonders as fast as possible so I definitely played a "less chill" way lol

@@JackDuckGoose Of course. Haha, I am obssessed with the story seasons and the older harvest moon games. So seeing someone take the time to go through the entire things is awesome. I watched the fuller versions too- all the parts of the regular streams. because I can't get enough and there's not many people willing to run through the games 100% As a young child with the GC version we used a cheat on Z on a controller in a different port to make an alarm clock appear if I remember right, or it just jettisoned random crud into your inventory. It's been so long, but we never had known what all the weird veggies were that got put into our inventory that had weird colors and variants. I was so excited to see all that gameplay when you did the original playthrough and went to tell my family what had been plaguing us because at the time. The Internet wasn't such an information dump on all games. Long story short, thank you for your content.

Let's see. I could recap most of my Year 1 days in this comment. I start every day at 6 AM and water crops, make sure the animals are fed, and collect produce (Eggs, Milk, Wool.) That usually gets me to around 8 AM, so I run around town and give out gifts to people I know who are awake. That usually consists of the three characters at Vesta's house, Sully, Hugh, & Chris. Then I do a run in the dig site. By the time I'm done with that, I'll run over to the harvest sprite hut and pick up a recipe, then start running around town looking for people who weren't awake at 8 AM and gift stuff to them and look for cutscenes and heart events. Around 5 PM I'll do another round of animal care and getting some more milk, then I usually spend the evenings fishing since a lot of characters like sashimi and fish.

@@Kevewe My understanding of milk is that it scales with heart levels. I'm not exactly sure at which heart a cow will start giving S milk, but the best way to level up your affection with your cows is to talk to them every time you milk them, let them out into the pasture when the weather is nice, and to cuddle and brush them once a day.

@@Kevewe Great question! I only actually planted 7 of those trees. 3 Bananas and 2 peaches and 2 oranges. I kept 1 Orange and 1 Peach seed to use for later hybridizing since they won't bear fruit until Summer of Year 2.

The tomatoes actually only produce once, a very annoying staple of AWL that returned in the remake. I scythe them down instead of just plucking them so that I can get uses out of the scythe which can be upgraded over time as long as you use it.
