When you realize that the only reason why Aatrox screams so much is because he is terrified of not being heard, the only reason he kills is out of pure despair and in search of the slightest grim of hope that maybe someone can destroy him and his blade, and when you realize that the reason why he has so many quotes in the 3rd person is because he's afraid of being alone... such a sad character, From The strongest Hero That has been born, to a Betrayed Madman who has lost hope even in death, carried now only by his former pride...Also the thing about the “Fight or be forgotten” line is… Old Aatrox told this to his enemies. New Aatrox tells this to himself. If he stop fighting, he reverts into prison… In the dark, hungry, unable to breath, unable to scream… Just a sword, buried and… Forgotten.

The Darkin lore is indeed interesting. I don't know all of it myself but most League community members know that they were once Ascended God Warriors of Shurima. Their ascended bodies made them very resistant to anything, but their minds got corrupted by fighting the Void, so now they seek to destroy and corrupt (at least Aatrox and Rhasst do, prob same for Varus, or should I say, Vaarus xD).

I don’t know if this is still true, but Varus is a special case. Because he was merged with the two hunters, their personalities warped him somewhat. Aatrox and Rhaast possess their wielder and their personality remains separate from their host, but Varus tried to possess two, so their personalities could fight back together much better, leaving the three all tangled up. So instead of one possessing one, it’s three merged together. I believe. I could be totally wrong though! 😂

Great reaction Little side notes to aatrox voice lines. The reason he often yells is because he was trapped in this empty prison, where he was isolated so long. That never anyone replied to him, so he started screaming in hope he might scream loud enough that his voice might get heard at any point. And he often talk in third person about himself, or the flesh. Because he feels like he already died when he lost his glories status as a god warrior and got trapped. So he feels so disconnected from himself, it’s almost like he’s trying to convince himself he is some else just overlooking this creature that’s called aatrox, since he can’t stand the shame of his downfall. And he can’t take the thought, that he accually could have fallen so deep. Also don’t forget that even if aatrox builds a pile of corpses which he forms to look like his old body. Or as close as he gets with it. His conciseness is still within the sword, so if he sais move flesh move. He is accually commading the flesh made body like a vehicle or tool while still being captured inside the sword. With the only difference of having his senses like seeing hearing and feeling the outside world through the flesh he controls. Also the reason why he yells I am immortal, and I can’t die. Or cut justice of me is often so misunderstood. He’s not mocking his foes, he is pissed that no one he ever met is capable of killing him. Since he only wants his suffering to end and die. But he can’t since he’s cursed with immortality. So the inability of anyone being able to kill him drives him mad and pisses him off.

The most terrifying and sad ones to me are the ones where he speaks in third person. It’s as if he doesn’t WANT to do this, as if he’s remembering his once noble and heroic self who stood as a guardian against the Void. It sounds like he’s FORCING himself into believing armageddon is what he wants. The pain and desperation in his voice during those ones is so powerful. Aatrox is one of the most tragic and heart wrenching characters in the history of gaming.

Recently found this, honestly love this, I am a huge advocate for the lore of this game and Aatrox is a piece of poetic misery that deserves to be put on a pedestal. I highly recommend finding videos that for example show off who he is specifically talking to, or in what situation, for example ""Do I resemble you, abomination?" is when he meets a Void champion (specifically monster) for the first time! I also highly recommend a content creator called "Necrit" who is even the Loremaster in the ruined king game, because he is the person everybody goes to if they want to know anything about any piece of league of legends lore, their champions, their stories, their hurts, and theories. Amazing content! Will surely watch more! Nevermind I just started your kindred video and you said that- Still a great video tho! Would love to see you react to Yorick and Illaoi!

As far as Aatrox has fallen, it is still not too late for him, perhaps. Varus was just as hate-filled as him, but the presence of Valmar and Kai chilled him out a lot, so as long as Aatrox can find a pair of star-crossed lovers and turn them into his body, he'll be fine. It's so simple it's brilliant, I can't wait to spam Riot with my fan fiction, they will have to listen! Seriously, though, I do love how sad Aatrox actually is - him and Joraal, from Legends of Runeterra, might be the only Darkin that are as damaged as the stories about them tell us.

Varus wasn't even close to being as angry and full of hatred as Aatrox. Aatrox *instantly* consumed whoever picked him up. Varus was fused into two dudes and was calmed down a bit by them. Aatrox used to be a general whereas Varus was... a nobody as far as we know. Just a soldier among others like Naafiri, Rhaast, etc. Aatrox's only equal is Xolaani and she's the one who came up with the blood magic they all use as Darkins.

I think the only chance Aatrox has at any kind of redemption is if one of the cosmic horrors from the void comes into the real world threatening to end existence itself. Aatrox would attack such a creature without hesitation because he wants to be set free from existence, and in a way of bringing his story full circle he might drive the creature back into the void before his destruction and thus buy enough time for the void to be sealed again. The question would be if he has a self realization before his destruction and for a brief moment recaptures the glory of his original purpose.

Pantheon, Aatrox and Aurelion Sol, the three beings that were wronged by the celestials. Funny enough, Aatrox is linked to Pantheon, (you can even see him on the background of pantheon's splashart), and Pantheon linked to Aurelion Sol. If I remember correctly, the only 3 people Aatrox sees worthy of using as vessels, are Tryndamere, Pantheon and Jax. Aatrox slaughtered a whole squad of Tryndamere kinsmen, and left him to die. Pantheon once managed to cut Aatrox's sword hand, sealing him into the blade again, a random person would later find Aatrox's blade and become the vessel, and now Aatrox uses the blood magic to make a flesh gauntlet to protect his hand. Also, it would be cool to later expand on the champions, reading the wiki article of that champion (the "character" article, because the other article only has stats of the champion ingame, not lore related stuff), specially the trivia and relations sections at the bottom, they have cool info.

When he says "I know it was you, trickster!", he's talking about the Aspect of Twilight, Zoe. She's one of the strongest Targon characters, because the Twilight is known as "the Herald of the Change" and even can handle Aurelion Sol (creator of Runeterra). During the Darkin War, Myisha, the other Aspect of Twilight (short explanation, every Targon god chose an "Aspect", a mortal that will be fueled with divine powers, but they change through eras), went to Shurima to teach the mortals how they could seal the Darkins, so Aatrox sees Zoe (the "dusk" counterpart of the Twilight) as the responsible of his suffiering. I really like Zoe's lore/personality (no clue she's my main ingame), because most of time she's just a cheerful kid, but her countless eras of life and knowlodge make her sound like a real god whenever she decides to take her job as the announcer of the cosmos seriously. Sorry I got quite excited typing 😅

aatrox special interaktions are very nice to react also .. its aatrox ingame interactions with other champions. Pantheons and kindred are very good choicec .. i also recommend kayn, he wields a darkin weapon a scythe .. kayn has 3 sets of voicelines... one where he interacts with the darkin rhaast and both are fighting over control of kayns body.. midgame the player can chose who will win and take controll so there are for each path one more set of voicelines depending on Rhaast taking over or kayn subdue the darkin and becoming more powerfull. If ur looking for cinematic i would recommend "Thresh Unbound: A Night at the Inn"

a little bit of lore, he was a god warrior of an empire that fought against whats basically the outer gods of lovecraft, and after the war he was left with mental scars, but nothing happened except that his empire fell and he was left without porpuse so he became not a god warrior but a darkin, he fought wars and battle his kin for years until another empire used magic to trapped him because he couldn't be killed since he represents a concept of the universe and killing him would erase this concept so they trapped him in his sword, and he described as the worst thing you can imagine, here is how he describes it: "My limbs and muscles refuse to move. I cannot breath. I am choking. The pressure builds. The stillness spreads to my chest and limbs. I want to scream, to tear at my face, to wail-but I am trapped. I cannot move. I cannot move...Darkness" so after a mortal found him and he corrupt him he was able to transform him into a imperfect copy of what he was but mortals can't contain his power so he must kill and absorb more mortals so he isn't put in the sword again, he also describes that as trading a cage for a bigger one plus he is disgusted by what he has become, and his whole idea is that if he kills everything then he will finally die,

if you do "The Call" I highky recomment to follow up with "All That Will Ever Be | Bel'Veth Cinematic - League of Legends" since it is lore wise following upr "The Call" cinematic. Also if you do voicelines I also highly recommend to check out the champion themes. These themes encapsulate the character and sometimes the lore in their music themes. League composes all of them by their own music department - and a lot of them are real masterpieces. :) I am not sure if I recommended that already but there is a whole documantary on the League music : "Frequencies - The Music of League of Legends".

His character is one of a man that reached greatness, fought for his kingdom with honor and lived among gods ... then tricked into becoming a monster. He hates his own existence but is unable to end it cursed to ever exist in this state. His own anger with him self turned to the world. Secretly he just fights everything and everyone hoping he will one day die. He doesnt hate life he hates him self and he can do nothing about it. he is left alone with no purpose. Truly a great character and definitely a tragic one

ok now a bit of lore dump xD trickster, Aatrox mentioning is aspect of dawn (now Zoe, back in time Maisha - or something like that,she is responsible for creating darkins in the first place indirectly as she taught humans how to create ascended) she is responsible for capturing darkins - Maisha taught humans how to craft weapons that can hold essens of darkins and how to capture them; now darkins need living host to do anything, they literally destroys souls of a host and take over body, then change body to be closer how they looked in they best days via blood magic created by Xolani (also darkin) Aatrox is one of the most powerful of darkins if not the most (as he actually killed a literal god of war - aspect of war Pantheon); he stabbed host of the aspect so hard that aspect died Aatrox ultimate goal is to die himself, ulucky for him he is too powerful to just die, also darkin weapons are indestructible so he thinks if he destroys world somehow it also "free" him

Outside lore, he mention so much the immortality, resurrection and not die in genereal cuz his main trait in game was about coming back to life after he dies. (with time that got changed tho) also he calls Tryndamere his creation cuz he made him so mad and angry that he ignored death (tldr). And again, in game, Tryndamere main resource is rage and the untimate ability is about becoming invulnerable to death for a few seconds

When he says "resurection , an endless cycle of life. a dead bird." He s refering to Azir the emperor of Shurima that died thousands years ago then resurrected and ascended into said bird , a falcon. When that line is played he either meets Azir in game or kills him. The tragic fall of Shurima began because the emperor Azir was betrayed and died.

For the voice lines around 13:30 this is probably why someone recommended a specific Channel for voice lines. For this one Aatrox is most likely reacting to an encounter with undead or void creature, so he's reflecting.

Though they were victorious, the surviving Ascended, the self described Sunborn, found themselves forever changed by the terrors of The Void, and self infliction of blood magic. Though Shurima triumphed, they all had lost something in their victory… even the noble Aatrox. And in time, Shurima fell, as all nations are doomed to. Without anything to defend, or the threat of The Void to fight against, the noble Sunborn began to clash with one another. Mortals fleeing this destructive conflict came to know them by a new mocking name: The Darkin. Fearing that the fallen Ascended were as much of a threat to the world as The Void, the Targonians, enlightened by the Aspect of Twilight, and the newly reborn Aspect of War united thousands to fight against the corrupted Sunborn. In the end, The Targonians pulled Aatrox into the blade he wielded, and forever bound his immortal essence to it, doomed to endless life. The prison sealed him in suffocating, eternal darkness, robbing him even of the ability to perish. He could not see, hear or feel, he was doomed to endure endless choking, as he could not breathe in, or out. For centuries he was trapped with only his mind intact, a war against himself so alien, brutal and terrifying that even gods would crumble under the mental drain. He strained against the hellish confinement, until some nameless mortal was foolish enough to wield the blade. Aatrox seized upon the opportunity, and took over their body, only to realize, he was deformed, only a fraction of his once noble self. The warrior, who appeared as a divine sunlight, now took shape as an unholy, dark avatar. Aatrox searched runeterra desperately, for a way to return to his previous form.. but it was all in vain. In time, he realized that he will never be released of this hellish cage. The flesh he stole, shaped crudely, began to feel like a mockery of his former glory, a cage only slightly larger than the sword. The heavenly powers Aatrox once wielded, have vanished, with all memory. Raging against this injustice Aatrox arrived at a conclusion. If he could not destroy the blade, or return to his once noble self, then he would embrace oblivion instead, and now he clings to a blind hope: if he could not die, he will drive existence into one last apocalyptic battle, where everything, and EVERYTHING would be destroyed… then maybe he and the blade will cease to exist.

Aatrox is like Mordekaiser to destroy and kill everything but if he was more intelligent he would go to Ikacia jump to Voidrift and it would tear him apart there. Rhaast is fine, but it is clear that eventually Kayn will suppress him and Rhaast will be just a Scythe. Well, at least he can get together with Akali. 🤩 But my favorites of the Darkin living now are Xolaani, Varus Valeeva, Naafiri and Horazi.

@@bigbywolf5031 Um, Guardians in the Void are more powerful than anything in Celestial - Targon Prime/Runeterra. If his sword fell from the rift into the Void, it would be destroyed along with the watchers themselves. Something similar to Malzahar and Belvet, but she destroys people and things and then reshapes them in her own vision.

Aatrox is the embodiment of rage and the reason of Tryndamere ultimate and reason to fight. at his peak power he killed one of the gods of runateera, he killed the aspect of war, after that, zoe gave the knowledge of how to imprison him and reducehis power, that's why he hate her so much, to me he is one of best characters on LOl, plus the actor put so much into it.

Darkin fan/main here. Aatrox in lore vs in game is so sad. Lore: An immortal Darkin who builds up his body with the corpses of his enemies In game: Removed his revive, has a low HP pool, glorified Assassin (can't even call him a bruiser or tank 😭 ) (quick explanation, they removed Aatrox from the game, re-added him but with a rework and then they downgraded him I think about 8 times including getting rid of his revive which is strange since that's his whole *THING* . aka not dying)

TLDR version of why the darkin "are weapons".... When they were warring against each other (Aatrox and his Darkin brothers vs Xolaani). They caused so much Havoc that the aspects had to get involved. The aspect of Twilight (The one before Zoe) gave humans the knowledge to trap them. So the Darkin were then trapped inside indestructible weapons and now require a host to take form. That basically nerfed slightly since Aatrox already proved they're still capable of killing gods. While being in this form they cannot use blood magic like they did in their prime. Example.... The Darkin could morph their bodies in any way they wanted. They could make armor and weapons from their body using blood. In their current sealed form, they would require blood of others to most of the things they were once able to. Hence why Aatrox set out on a killing spree to grow in size.

Aatrox story is simple. He used to be a respected commander of the strongest army in the world at the time: the Shuriman army of Ascended God-Warriors. After Shurima fell, the various Ascendeds fought for power to the point of risking of destroying Runeterra (the planet). The Aspect of Twilight chose to seal the Darkins (some of the Ascendeds who used blood magic to empower themselves and fight amongst each other) to avoid the end of the world. She sealed most of them in a single weapon (Sivir's Chalicar) and taught the people how to seal the remaining ones in other weapons. Aatrox was sealed in a sword and for several millenia, he suffocated but couldn't die. Now, his goal is to destroy all of reality in hope that if everything is destroyed, perhaps he will finally get to die. This is what it means when he references "oblivion".

aatrox is actually the blade the demonic visage is holding.should the body die, aatrox will survive until someone new picks up the sword and aatrox will corrupt/control them twisting them into a new host. the darkin are actually the shurimen ascended(demi-gods) who were corrupted by the watchers in the void.

13:30 the dead bird comment is in response to anivia, and the abomination one is for vel'koz. 16:13 he doesn't like anyone, but tryndamere was someone he tried to make a vessel out of, so he killed everyone he cared for.. 16:49 zoe. Aatrox's ingame lines in response to other champions is basically all insults. that last congratulations comment is in response to someone showing their mastery thingy. that is an insult to players themselves.
